I have a 2008 Suzuki C109R and the tail light is on, while none of the other lights are on and the keys aren't even in the ignition. I noticed this when I attempted to start it up and all that it did...

Hi, when you switch the ignition to the on position, does the rear light go out? It may be the ignition is in the parking position or has become faulty, as the ignition provides a separate live for the rear light, try turning the key to another position untill the light goes out and see if you can remove the key, i would be most supprised if the clicking noise was anything to worry about other than the rear light has discharged the battery, i wouldnot think the light has been on all summer only since the last time you started the bike,

Running problem

It takes electrical power to run the ignition system on your bike. If your alternator is not providing that power it must come from the battery. When the battery is out of power, the bike dies. You have a problem in your bikes electrical system. MOST likely is a faulty battery, but could also be alternator or other piece in the system.

Started and then died

the engine quit and the bike will not restart. No lights come on either. I believe I smelled a little burn odor just before the bike died. It was washed and dried yesterday but not started until this morning. Any ideas on what it might be?Sounds like some electrical troubleshooting is in order. Check all the fuses and connections for signs of frying if you smelled burning electrical components. Check your battery voltage and connections. and anything else you can see while poking around. This may involve touching parts of the bike that are not on the handlebars,
