Remove fork spring, prise up dust seal, you will then see a clip holding in the main seal, remove this clip, with the spring removed you will then use the fork stancion to remove the seal, holding the fork lower in one hand and the stancion in the other push down on the stancion untill it stops then pull it up sharply, and repeate this hammer action until the fork is sepparated and the seal will then be removed

You take the front wheel out then undo the top and bottom yoke pinch bolts, twist the forks downwards then undo the bolt in the centre at the bottom.then lift the dust seal out with a flat screwdriver and lift out the circuits you may need circling pliers.then pull the top and bottom of the fork apart quickly.it will separate.then change the seals and put it back together you need to install the new seal squarely and do not damage it.refill the oil by undoing the bolt at the top and pouring the fork oil in there.

I want to split my fz16s front fork

Before you remove the fork loosen the top triple clamp on the fork you want to remove. Now loosen the top cap of the fork. Loosen the bottom triple clamp and slide the fork out of the bike. Remove the top cap of the fork. There is spring pressure pushing against the cap, but if the fork is not being compressed it not difficult to take off or to put back on. When it is removed pour the oil in to a container and reinstall the cap. In stall the cap all the way but you don't have to tighten it.
Slide the dust cap up and off of the fork without scratching any of the chrome. Now remove the "C" clip or spring that was under the dust seal and place with the dust seal.Flip the fork upside down to access the allen head bolt in the bottom of the fork. Using an impact driver break this loose. Once loose remove the top cap and spring from inside. Now remove the the bottom bolt. Holding both tubes of the fork compress and snap apart quickly. This might take a few times but the should come apart rather easily.

Replacing fork seals on 1995 yz 250. It bene a while since replacing fork seal on anything. My harley was easy. I cant figure out where to begine. Ive taken a good portion of the right fork apart and have...

undo the big allen bolt on the bottom.(a rattle gun helps)
remove the dust seal
remove the circlip
use the fork leg as a kind of slide hammer to separate the top and bottom, and this will pull the seal out.make sure its clean and some WD helps the seal move
It may help to put the axle in and clamp the axle in the vice to hold the bottom end

Trying too change fork seals on rx 125 now have undone from bottom of forks but cannot get the split ring out

remove the bottom split ring first then the smaller one.
if they are damaged, replace them too.

If you can't get it out without damaging it, go ahead and damage it and buy new ones.
they are not expensive.

Fork seals gone on honda nsr 125

280 ml on the older models, and 320ml on the newer models.
1. you need to elevate the bike with a jack or something so the front wheel is off the ground.
2. undo the Allen bolt on the side of the fork, then proceed to take the main wheel socket bolt/bar out, so the the wheel comes off, the speedo drive will come off leave that hanging around lol.
3. take of the socket bolts attaching the brake caliper to the fork, dont leave it hanging secure it somewhere, so you dont damage the brake cable tube.
4.take handle bars off, one allen bolt on each one.
5. then unscrew the the 2 socket bolts that hold the folks on, if you follow the folks down you will see 2 socket bolts take them out. do the same on other folk.
6.then pull one folk at a time down, maybe tap it if its hard. and you will have the folk out in your hands.
7.unscrew the big socket bolt at the top of the folk out, but apply pressure, sometimes the bolt will fly off, so be careful.
8. take the big long plastic tube out along with the spring, and tip the folk upside down and pump it to get most of the oil out.
9.then go to the bottom of the folk and undo the allen bolt, when its moving around freely and not coming out put the spring in and push down and twist the allen bolt should come straight out.
10.pump it a few times and then you take the folk tube out completely and give everything a clean, it will be stiff when you get it near the top so get momentum and yank hard and it will pop out.
11. then the bottom pit of the folk that the tube goes into, if you look into it you will see the oil seal, take the cur-clip out and it should come out pretty easily.
12 give the folk tubes a rub down with fine sandpaper say 1000 grain or 800 grain, to get rid of little bumps, look carefully feel it with your hand, to see if theres any pitting, you will be able to see it, thats not good but make sure its not on the part of the tube which goes up and down the oil seal when compressed down.
13.put folk tube back in the bottom of the folk, then put spring in puch down tighten allen bolt.
14.put new oil seal on and push it down its best to use a oil seal hammer tool thingy, but if your careful you can tap it down with a hammer and something small and flat at the bottom, i used a bolt, worked well.
careful dont damage the oil seal.
15. put cur -clip back in, it should click, make sure its on the closest ridge to the oil seal.
16. put 280 ml, of oil or if you have a newer model 320ml, of fork oil in the tube, pump it a few times to get air out and oil to the bottom chamber.
17. put the spring back in and the long plastic tube, and put the top bolt on for now not to lose not to tight.
18. attach the folk to the bike again and same with the other one, make sure you align the little ridge on the top of the folk, with the top of the steering bar, the top steering the bar the folk go into last. its late lol getting confused lol. oh and when y0ou align make sure you tighten the bolts holding the folk in place.
19.then put the steering grips/bars back on and then tighten the top bolt tight cant remember the torque setting. then you know everythign from there. phew

Fork seal replacement on 82 yamaha 750 seca

On the top and bottom parts of the triple tree either both or one will have bolts. First take the fender off. Take the front tire off. Loosen the bolts on the triple tree. They should slide down. If not you have to get a rubber mallet and tap on the top of the fork and twist the fork as you are doing this. Once it is out, pull the dust seal off the top of the lower fork. There will be a clip inside, take the clip off drain the oil out of the top or bottom depending on how the forks are made. Push the fork tube down into the lower fork slightly, pull both apart with a firm tug and they should separate.

Torque specs

what size bolt heads on these bolts (the bolts size chart for correct torque specs is 2mm smaller than the head of the bolt on Kaw).while the forks are still off and the end caps also still off, hold them level (up/down) and by hand (which will be easy because the caps are off to let the springs come out past the tube-but leave them in as they change the amt. of fluid goin in)push down slow to compress and bottom them out then fill till you get 100mm from inside the top of the forks tube is on the mark.then pull them back to fully extended ,put the caps CAREFULLY back on so they dont stripp the soft threads up.P.S.if this was used at a track there are 2 inexpensive brass or copper bushings inside the big tubes top and a bit lower that will get worn and let the inner fork tube **** back and fourth as it compresses in and out that causes the seals to leak again very soon because it flexes the round inner part of the fork seal to become out of round (not tight all around the tube for correct sealing) from slack and to much movement from the above mentioned cheap bushings wear.I cut em out with a dremmel and freeze the new ones for easy insertion with fingers to not nick em from tappin in with a hammer, etc.good luck, wallace
