yes you do need to take the tank off, first the seat needs to be removed,then there is a bolt holding the tank, then there are 4 pipes that are with the tank mark down on paper where you av moved them from, so you can replace them back to nornall.

remove the belly pan,undo the radiator there are 2 bolts either side of the manifold undo these and the bolt at the rear near the silencer. the exhaust should now be able to be removed.

I believe the manual calls for 10w40 GN4 Honda oil. Any 10w40 motorcycle oil should be okay. I run Shell Rotella T 5w40 synthetic in both of my bikes and it seems to work very well. Stay away from the car oils with the "energy conserving" labels as the can cause the clutch to slip.
