It sounds like your kick stand switch is stuck. There is a switch that senses if the kickstand is up or down and the plunger can get stuck. This is likely the problem.

Starts in neutral w/ kickstand up, dies when put in gear. NOT Kickstand Switch

it sounds like the clutch is dragging, either it is not adjusted properly or the clutch friction or metal plates are warped and acting like wave washers.you should have about 2mm of free play at the end of the clutch lever when its not being pulled in.also too thick an oil in the engine in it like 20/50 it should be using 10w 40 semi synthetic oil.does it try to pull forwards with the clutch in slightly when you put it in gear ?

I have a 2000 gsxr 600 that runs fine but for some reason right when i turn it off it wont start. There is battery power cause all the lights come on, and when i turn the switch to on and push the switch...

Hello,
Your bike has a safety interlock built in that will need to be thought of when you try to start the bike. The Kick stand needs to be in the UP position, not toward or resting on the ground if the transmission is in any gear other than Neutral. In other words the neutral gear the bike will always start regardless of the kickstand's position. On the other hand if you are in gear and put down the kickstand without thinking the bike will shut off.

Bike starts and runs great in neutral. When I put bike in gear, it shuts off. What is the problem?

check the switch on the side stand, the bike is designed so as it cuts off if you select a gear with the stand down,

My 250 honda rebel runs fine in neutral but shuts off when i put it in gear. When i don't have the cluch engaged it lurches foward slightly then shuts off.

Check the side stand kill switch. Broken, loose or out of adjustment it will kill the bike when put in gear. The idea is to prevent starting out with the side stand down. Check the wires and connections also.

Cranks but won't start

Jus the motor shut off? Or did all the gagues, lights, everything seem to shut down? If all the gagues acted up, sounds like the ignition switch, not the lock cylinder, the acutal ignition switch.
