Everytime I take the fj1200 for its mot I am asked to turn the head lights on and apply the brake when the engine is running it works fine but when asked to turn the engine off and apply the brake the tail light cluster dimly lights up and have been told that there is a bad earth in the system tried earthing the tail light to the chassis no good then thought the battery was past it's best fitted a new one still this bad earth. any ideas! The best place I can tell you to find a manuel would either be ebay or a motorcycle shop like M&M

If your negative battery cable has been disconnected, and you can't tell where it goes, anyplace on the metal frame where you can make a good connection will be ok. You will need a sturdy bolt that you can tighten enough.

Sounds like the voltage regulator....have it checked by Auto sparky
