Was trying to see why my Honda shadow vt500 was not running and when I took the seat off I see the two connections that were for the CDI spark units were clipped off and I figured that is why the bike will not start grabbed my screw driver and did the old trick to see if I was getting spark and you cannot get any spark at all and with those connections clipped I assume that is why the bike will not start

HELLO; No, the 87- 89 are only for those years, yamaha changed the wireing looms three or four times I can't remmember, youll have to get one for your year of quad for it to work right. Check on line for a used one or new at better than dealer price. GOOD LUCK.....GREASY.
