SOURCE: engine idles fine, stalls soon as its given gas

Hi there!

Open up the carb and clean the jets with pressurized air. I also suspect water on the carburetor reservoir, before opening the carb, drain it first then run. Also, make sure the plugs are clean. Pull on the choke when twisting the accelerator, if it accelerates well, then warm the beast at normal temperature first before twisting the throttle hard again.

hope this helps-

SOURCE: yamaha warrior won't start

a yamaha warrior isnt a 2 stroke. they make a street bike nad a four stroke quad. Check your carburator. check your spark plug and check your stator. it may be very minor considering it was running fine then just went out. no noise or anything. you would have heard something if you broke something internal.

SOURCE: 350 raptor only runs with full choke on ,

Hi Mike,
You will find that there is a problem with the carbie. It runs with the choke on because the choke engages the "enricher" circuit. The idle circuit is different a different circuit inside the carb. When just crack the throttle on, you use the pilot circuit, and then main jet with more twist of the grip. You will need to completely strip the carb, remove all jets, spray carbie cleaner throughout, and blow out all capillary tubes and holes inside the carb with compressed air. Pay particular attention to the fine holes inside the venturi near the butterfly valve. You may need to use a fine piece of wire, like a guitar string to open up any that are clogged.
There is not much else that will cause the symptoms you have. Check for air leaks about the inlet manifold also, spray some carbie cleaner about the manifold connections boots, the revs will change when it sucks up the cleaner through the leak.
Happy to talk to you more about it.
regards robotek

1995 rodeo 2.6 efi petrol my son had put water in thinking it was petrol so drained it out I put a ltr of metho in then 25ltr 98 octaine now it backfires & has a miss

when you drained the fuel was it from the tank only and was fuel pump tested --if you didnt drain fuel lines and changed out fuel filter than your have water /fuel mix going into engine just a little water is enough to damage engine -foul up spark plugs -clog/damage throttle body

My 2002 xterra has started running hot..code po 217 came on..after gas cap was put on wrong..cleared code put gas cap on right then fine for 2 weeks..when idleing heat gauge rises high..as soon as i rev...

p0217 is coolant over temperature. the fan clutch may be slipping or the thermostat is bad. changing the thermostat would probably be the easiest and most inexpensive fix to determine the problem.

I put the wrong fuel in it.I added an octain booster and it ran better. When it was time to fuel again I put premium fuel 92 grade and it runs like **** again

When you put a fuel into your vehicle, it needs to "learn" how to operate best with that fuel. Usually, it runs best after running 2 - 3 different times. If you keep putting the same fuel in the car and give it some time to "re-learn", it should be just fine.

Yamaha warrior atv [yfm 350] bogging problem

Try checking the switch for your parking brake. It is the top wire in the clutch handle boot. This wire connects to your CDI box, and restricts the RPM's while the parking brake is engauged. To find out for sure, trace the wire down to the plug under the headlight assembly and disconnect it. Now try starting you machine and give it some throttle!
