Therre is a vent from the underside of the tank to atmosphere. It may be pinched or clogged. If the cap has a vent it is plugged. clean cap in carburetor cleaner.

I believe they could. Possibly not the fenders, but the tank, that's a probability. Check the mounts, and take some measurements of tank length on the bottom.

Gas cap will not open on 2000 gsxr 600

You did of course press it down to releave pressure of the spring? I think I would spray a little WD-40 on it.

Give it a try ... Good luck.

Where is the fuel filter located

I have a 92 apv with a 3.8 and changed the fuel filter about a year ago. It is located underneath the vehicle on the right (drivers) side, just forward of the gas tank. I bought a new filter and just by matching up the part with the in-line filter found it pretty easily. The are several lines from the tank that run the length of the vehicle to the engine compartment and you shouldn't have a problem spotting the filter. There are a pair of tabs on the filter that need to be either compressed or opened (I can't remember which) and then twist turn the filter, and gently pull the filter off. If you have to open the tabs you may need a flat tip screwdriver to do so, I just don't remember if I needed one, or if there might be a screw mounted clip underneath holding up the gas line. Be careful not to put too much strain on the gas line as you work with it because it could snap. All I did to prep this procedure was to remove the fuel filler cap from the gas from the tank (as in when you gas up) to relieve any pressure that might be in the tank. You will have some gas leak out of the gas line when the filter is removed, so I just had some shop towels handy to allow the gas to soak into them. I did this outside, so if you are working in a garage, have the overhead door up to avoid gas fumes build-up. The new filter goes in very smoothly. Insert in the same position that the old one came out, twist into place, and the locking tabs should pop right into place. Wipe up all the spilled gas and re-install the fuel filler cap, and you should be good to go. This replacement only took me several minutes.

I have a 97 ford taurus and its a clunker. Im getting rid of it. It got a full tank and i would like to siphon it out and into my new car. I got a siphon kit and fed the tub all the way in till i wouldnt...

unfortunately most fuel tanks are made so you can no longer siphon gas through the fill tube. if you want the fuel that badly you could disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter and wait for it to drip out.

This error code p0457, just popped up and I have a diagnostic reader. After reading the code it said it was a bad gas cap but the cap is fine. After further looking into the problem i noticed a small fuel...

The bad gas cap is related to the evaporative emissions what happens is the gas that is not used in the engine return to the tank via the 2nd hose. The tank is pressurized very lightly by this and a sensor detects whether or not the air escapes. So if the cap is loose or there is a leak in a hose the code will set. Since you also have a leak I would start there first. The straps most likely are not cutting the tank the epa would have a fit. Most likely the the gas is coming from above the tank and working its way down the straps. Lowering the fuel tank requirs raising the car quite high. If you are able to inspect the area and reach it I think the leak would be in the gas lines above the tank. Or from the filler tubes when you fill with gas. If you can see the gas leak but are unable to reach it take it to a shop. This may fix the light if not a shop with a (smoke machine) will pump smoke into the system and search for air leaks that way. Good luck .

Door to gas cap won't open. I know it's probably a problem with the cable. I can get to it from inside the trunk, but can't figure out how to remove the necessary parts in order to fix it. Is there...

if the gas cap is plastic you may be able to distort the cap enough to get it to unlock
the only other thing I can think of is to either drill a 30 to 40mm hole into the cap and put your finger in to release the catch or just destroy the cap and buy a good 2nd hand one and have it colour matched to your paintwork
They are the only solutions I can think of for your problem
