Wont start 2004 Daytona 600, 1800 miles. Ok, let me start by saying I hope someone out there can help me! I just bought this bike from a good friend of mine. It had been sitting for seven months. We went to crank it up and it wouldn't start. He had started it a few times and it was fine. I replaced the battery and everything came on ie: dash, lights, and fuel pump. When I hit the ignition nothing would happen. The starter would make no noise at all. After fiddling with it for a few hours I decided to jump the starter solenoid. It fired right up. I let it idle for about an hour. It was raining so I didn't take it out. All of this was yesterday. This morning I went out and started it right up. I rode for about twenty minutes and then came home. I went inside for about thirty minutes and when I returned to the bike, I turned the key and nothing. The only thing that came on was the headlights. The cockpit did nothing, nor did the fuel pump. I am lost, I think I have gone through every possible option and I am at ends with the situation. Looking back at early threads I have seen the one about the kill switch. It is in the run position. The battery has a good charge and the kick stand is up. Clutch is in and bike is in nuetral. Please someone HELP!!!

Having recently gone to hell and back (like yourself) trying to find the starting problems with my D650, I wonder if this will help. On the 650, under the seat, to the front of the battery are three relays. To the rear of the battery is another relay. I was removing, swapping relays to try to isolate my problem. I can remember though that while removing one of those 4 relays, just the headlights would be on and there would be no other cockpit lights on. The giveaway is when the fuel pump dosen't prime. On the 650 you can both see this (tacho needle goes off the scale) and hear it. If it's the same with the 600, it would be worth checking these relays.

2004 triumph Daytona 600.... will not start all it does when you push the start button is click. Have checked all 4 relays under seat and all grounds. Battery shows 12.2 volts and 166 cranking amps. Please...

If you check that is not an electric problem, and is not the batery, the problem should be from the starting motor. Try to start the bike by selecting the 2nd gear and pull, take a ride, till the bike is heat and try again to start the bike with the button, if the problem persists then you should change the starting motor. Before you change the starting motor, change the starting relay, is cheap and probably can solve your problem too.

Lent my 2011 triumph daytona 675r to a friend and he ran the bike out of fuel and now the bike won't start. The bike will turn over fine and sometimes even sputter but won't accually fire up....

it sounds like some dirt has got into the injectors. these will need to be cleaned out. if you can keep trying it and give it some high revs this may run it through. hope this helps.

My 2009 triumph daytona 675 had some melting from the voltage regulator!!! nasty tar like residue all down the bike, so took fairing of and bought a used voltage regulator, turn ignition on and all lights...

Hi,
Its possible the ignition module has failed caused from the over voltage supply when the voltage regulator overheated.
Have the ignition checked for spark, if this is ok then it has to be a fuel delivery problem which unfortunately could be the ECU.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Triumph Daytona 955i 2004 , Just had a 12,000 mile service but the bike as started to smoke / burn oil this did not happen before the service any idea what the course could be.

If the oil is too thin, that may be a cause or if the oil has cleaned the carbon deposites off the piston rings because it is a detergent oil, that may cause it.
Check the oil that was used and check the crank case breather is not blocked building up pressure in the cranl case with obvious consequences.

1998 Triumph Daytona T595,Batt died now Check Engine is on.

ok, first off is that when you "jump a bike" dont jump by car with engine running this can fry major componets second you can try the reboot but I do think you damaged one of the parts

Bike overheating. Oil light flickering when idleing. I have a 98 Triumph Daytona that I just bought it has only 1,380 miles on it. I tried flushing the radiator. But its still running hot I did an oil...

Sounds to me that your battery my be slight low on charge, try charging it up. Running the bike with a low battery can cause havoc with the stator as well as the pulse coil, those are two things you don't want to be replacing.
Hopefully this helps you out.

Oil leaking out

by the sound of it and without looking at it i would guess that you have probably cracked an engine case, clean the bike down start it up and look where the oil is coming from,if the case is cracked you may be able to get it repaired in place,or you could try some of that jb cold weld paste,i have used it before on my race bike and three sesons on the repair is still good..hope this helps
