Wont start 2004 Daytona 600, 1800 miles. Ok, let me start by saying I hope someone out there can help me! I just bought this bike from a good friend of mine. It had been sitting for seven months. We went to crank it up and it wouldn't start. He had started it a few times and it was fine. I replaced the battery and everything came on ie: dash, lights, and fuel pump. When I hit the ignition nothing would happen. The starter would make no noise at all. After fiddling with it for a few hours I decided to jump the starter solenoid. It fired right up. I let it idle for about an hour. It was raining so I didn't take it out. All of this was yesterday. This morning I went out and started it right up. I rode for about twenty minutes and then came home. I went inside for about thirty minutes and when I returned to the bike, I turned the key and nothing. The only thing that came on was the headlights. The cockpit did nothing, nor did the fuel pump. I am lost, I think I have gone through every possible option and I am at ends with the situation. Looking back at early threads I have seen the one about the kill switch. It is in the run position. The battery has a good charge and the kick stand is up. Clutch is in and bike is in nuetral. Please someone HELP!!!
