Does my 97 gsxr 600 have a tip over switch?I have no spark and have been through all the switches(tested) and they all test to spec. I have replaced the cdi with 1 used then 1 new unit, still no spark. I have the correct resistance on the signal generator but the voltage output spec in the manual is questionable they show a DC voltage icon(measurement) ,but I thought pulse gen. were normally AC voltage. Can you tell me if AC or DC is correct? I did replace it any way but still have no spark.Any Idea's?
This might sound dumb but I had a similar problem with my 05 750 tap the bottom of the ignition switch with a hammer or what ever you can get in there and see if that works, there are contacts on the bottom of the switch and on my mike they turn on the fuel pump and spark, I went through hell trying to figure it out and one day I decided to hit the bottom of it and the fuel pump kickied on, the cover on the bottom of the ignition was put on backwards and had loosened up, I switched it around and she runs great now.

when you turn the ignition on, turn it on till you hear the fuel pump but dont start it. If you do that about five or six time and it starts, then you have air getting into your lines at night and the system is repreasurizing in the morning. Also could just be the cold start valve/injector is cloged or old.
Check for spark first of all. If no spark, is the kill switch on? Is the side stand up? It should be up when starting. Is the bike in neutral? Check the fuses.
If spark is present, is the gas turned on? How clean is the air filter?
If the bike still will not start go ahead and drain the carbs. If your bike has a water trap bowl behind the gas valve then remove the bowl, clean and reinstall it.
Doing this should get you back on the road.
