SOURCE: frequent backfiring

Usually means it is a little rich, or it has a leak in the exhaust somewhere pulling in air when you are slowing down. Check for leaks where the pipes attach to the cylinders, or look for black smoke when revved up.

SOURCE: Stage 1 Low rpm backfire

If you are running straight pipes they might not give you the right back pressure. This can be reolved by either going back to riginal pipes or instaling a bolt into the pipes about 5 inches in to make back pressure. Another thing? Did you have the bike's electronic ignition reset after you messed with it?

SOURCE: assy of starter clutch on 2003 Harley Davidson

The starter on a late model Harley is a typical Nippondenso gear reduction type starter. They are all basically the same except for size.
To replace the starter clutch inside the starter assembly requires disassembly of the starter assembly.

I you will contact me directly, I will scan the procedure and drawings out of a service manual for you.

SOURCE: Rewireing 93 harley davidson FXLR to 96 Handle bar

On the handlebar switches, Harley hasn't changed the color code scheme very much over the years but you really need a good schematic to know exactly how they are wired up. If you can find either a Harley service manual for a 96 model or a Clymer's manual, it would be helpful. I have a schmatic for a 94 FXDWG that should be alright for your 93 FXR but you need a schmatic for a 96 model bike.

I have an 04 electro/glide classic, i've cleaned the carb, and replaced the intake gaskets. and it's still backfiring loudly. what else can be causing this? Ike

04 is electronic and carburation isinjected, all preset(OEM),aparently your toy needs timing reset.Otherwise,it's running too lean and will blue your pipes up.If was carburated, just need to fatten up on mixture screw.Injected,go 2 main jet sizes over the present jet size and reassemble. Not getting enough fuel, now that you've sealed it from air leakes,is why they sputter and cough.Larger jet will cure that.2 sizes over OEM jet will stop that.If still problem,go to next sixe up.

How do i lean out carb on 2003 dyna

This is done by changing the main jet for full throttle adjustments, adjusting the metering rod (jet needle) clip position for midrange and the pilot (slow) jet for idle and just off idle. There is also usually a mixture screw on the carb somewhere, location depending on which carb, that will also control the low speed mixture. Why are you wanting to lean the jetting. If a carb becomes rich for some reason the solution would be to fix the problem not band-aid it with leaner jetting.

Very hard to start but once running it runs great

This is typical with stock Harley jetting. They are jetted very lean from the factory in order to pass EPA emissions standards. You could replace the slow speed jet with the next size up. I think the jet in your bike is a #42 jet, you can try a #45 to see how that works.

Good Luck

03 dyna glide won't idle

Check the throttle stop. Typically its a screw that can vibrate outa place.
Carb? drop the float bowl and be sure there's nothing clogging the idle jet.
Third is the ignition components.
The Library should have motorcycle repair manuals in the 646 stacks of reference if you don't have the service book yet.

Acceleration problem

If you are not running an open or free flowing exhaust go back to the stock size jets but use the DynoJet parts instead of the stock.
DJ jets tend to run bigger than oem jets
