I have the 2002 Pontiac Firebird Collector's Edition and I am wondering what is the deal with my clutch. When I am driving or if I get in stop and go traffic the clutch will stick to the floor and I will have to take my foot and pull it back out. The clutch doesn't feel like it has the pressure it used to and with it not returning to position i'm wondering is it the clutch, pressure plate or do i need to just change the fluid. Someone please help!

Check to make sure the radiator fan is coming on watch it for ten minute as it runs it should come on if it doesn't replace the fan relay or the fan coolant temp senson located on engine block upper area of engine.

There is actually a fix for this problem. There is no return spring for the clutch being that it is hydraulic. You need to take the master cylinder out and drill the return line an 1/8th of an inch. The reason why it sticks is because the return line is too small. All the fluid is backed up and once it is cleared, the clutch will return to normal. There is an article in GM High Performance magazine online that has the step by step instructions to fix it. Hope this helps.

these are drum brakes I assume, start but only taking apart one side and leave the other side to gether if you get lost in the reassembly, do not take the brake adjuster from one side of the car to the other they are different, one is right hand thead one is left, you need a blade screw driver and a pair of pliers some antiseize, springs hold everything together, go slow and you should be fine. Replace worn, cracked, pads, use sandpaper to clean up the drums if they are rusty from sitting, you can get them measured to make sure they are not worn out at you local supply store, if they are good reuse them, a can of brake cleans will clean up all the old brake dust and is much safer then compresed air, don't breath the dust! Lubricate behind the shoes where they contact the backing plate, you will see rub marks, turn the adjusters all the way in upon assembly, place drum on car and turn side to side, they should be free, turn out adjuster until it just starts to drag on the drum, bleed the brakes with a friend and check that drum is still free. Good luck.
