Coupling is stuck / sticks together

After the winter, I tried to get my motor BMW 75/7 back on the road. Starting is no problem. But when I hold in the clutch (coupling - I don't know the right word) and I want to put him in first gear, he shoots forward and falls out. The clutch/coupling seems not to work anymore. It is probably stuck or it sticks together somewhere. I allready tied to hold in the clutch for one day without succes and I tried to start it in first gear also without succes. Do you have any usefull tips ?

Is the bike shooting forward while you have the clutch lever pulled in or when you let it out? If it's when you let it out you have to do it slower and roll on the accelerator so that it doesn't stall. If you have the clutch lever all of the way in and it shoots forward you may need to see a mechanic... I'm sorry if this doesn't help much.

What you have here is a clutch plate that is stuck against the flywheel. You can try a couple of things. First the safe thing is to put it on the center stand and put it in 4th gear. Hold the clutch in and Grab the rear wheel and rock it back and forth severel times quite hard and this may free the plate That is the simpleest and safest way to do it. donnyb60

The problem may be the clutch thrust bearing,if it seizes and you pull in the handlebar lever the mechanism may get damaged . A lot of play in the lever and rough action with no effect on the clutch is the result.It may just be the clutch plate slightly seized the results of this are proper handlebr lever action but as soon as you put the bike in gear in jumps forward ,try running the engine at tickover for 30 minutes to really warm up the bike then put it in gear,after a few trys things should free up.

Have you determined that the starter is getting the voltage/current at its terminals? It is unlikely that the starter seized after only a few months. If you have someone else available, have them hold the key to the start position while you hit the starter motor with a hammer. If the starter begins cranking, your problem is likely sticking brushes in the starter motor. If that's the case, remove the starter motor and disassemble to address the problem or get another starter motor.

VW Passat Estate on Alloy wheels with 235/45/ZR17 tyres. want to find winter tyre suitable for 16 inch steel rim for same vehicle. Steel rim is marked 61x2JX16H2

okay, 235 is the tread width 45 is the profile(the distance from the wheel to the road)ZR is the speed rating(over 120mph)17 is the wheel diameter.so to get the same tread width 225 would fit(cheaper than 235)45 needs to be thicker cos of 16" not 17" wheels and 1"=25.4mm 75 would be the choice.because winter tyres are designed for speeds less than 70mph "R" would be suitable.
all together 225/ 75(or 85) R 16.....SNOW TYRE/WINTER TREAD.

I would like to install a block heater on my 330ci because it has toubles starting in winter.what is the going rate for a block heater installation

I'm not sure about the price of the heater but
you need to have the Engine Coolant Temperature switch checked,since the computer relies solely on sensors,the ect tells the computer how cold or hot it is so the computer will make it a rich or lean mixture to start the engine,if it tells the computer that it is 75 degrees the computer will lean the mixture like starting a car in the winter without a choke.

Sir,could you tell me where the oil filter is located on a 1998 (S plate) manual saloon 5 series bmw

Ahhhhhh easy one. The oil filter cannister is located not below the engine but in that aluminum looking cannister on the left as you look at the motor from the top.

There's a cap with a nut looking thing holding it all together. undo the nut take off the cap and voila....there's the oil filter. Be sure you pay attention on how it goes together. there are two O-rings and a copper gasket to put back correctly.

Who wants oil spewing out of the oil filter cannister assembly when you're driving down the road and the oil is under 35 psi? Not you, because it will ruin your engine pronto.

Motor humswhen turned on. Removed pump and rotated motor shaft, put back together and worked but made a loud clicking noise. turned off and tried to turn back on again. Motor just hums as if something...

I was going to mention the coupling, since that is new, then I would suggest motor brushes or new motor. As long as you are getting sufficient power to the motor. about minimum of 12-13.5 volts
