Overheating I've had quite a few problems with this bike, but im not about to give in yet. I have an issue with the bike overheating very quickly (within 5-10 min) from the startup. It jumps all the way up to about 210 Degrees in no time at all from normal riding. I've never tried to see if it will go higher if I keep going because im concerned I may damage the engine. Previously the bike would run at an average of 170-190 Degrees even at high RPMs. I recently changed the oil (first time i've done it) which may be the problem, but I did follow all the directions and used the right amount. Im also concerned that it may be the radiator, but I have no idea what the problem may be. Does anyone have any ideas to what it might be?

I've never been a big fan of automotive oil in a bike. That being said, maybe the Castrol can be used in bikes too I don't know. Anyhow, hopefully someone will be along that can better answer that part of your question. There have been many discussions pertaining to what oil to use. Drop a PM to OilDoc. He can probably answer that question very quickly for you. If this was a car, I'd say that the thermostat was stuck. Maybe start there.

I havn't a clue what you are taking about. The cb400ss ( mine, anyway ) is air cooled, it does not have a radiator, and certainly no temperatur e guage or temp warning light. How do you know it is overheating, and at what temp. it is running at ?

Save your hair, Silvano, it's not worth it.
When you did the head gasket, did you check the head for cracks? Sounds like the problem does originate in the engine. That's where the temp sensor is located. That's where it would get hot first. You might want to have the head magnafluxed to check for hairline cracks. Good luck.
