Question about 2006 Honda VTX 1300 S
Hi, I have a small coolant leak somewhere below the gas tank, it leaks after I have been riding it for a while. Did anybody else have this problem, what can be done to fix the problem? Thanks @
Hi, Jagirdhillon for this scenario you will need your service manual, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can't find the best tool you ever bought for your Honda, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.

SOURCE: Coolant Leak
There was nothing about having a leak and then not happening again after 5,000 miles of riding. If I remember, only something about it's normal and goes away when the seal around the water pump expands, but since my ride has over 5,000 miles I would imagine it wouldn't be pertaining to my situation. Make sure your rad does not have a small hole that spits coolant when under preasure/high temp.

Your bike has a vacuum operated petcock. The vacuum diaphram inside the cover set has cracked and is allowing fuel to leak from the vent hole. Unfortunately, you cannot buy just the diaphram, you've got to buy the cover set (#5 in the picture below), P/N 16953-KEA-023, or replace the whole petcock assembly (item #2), P/N 16950-MEM-674.

The hole that your coolant is leaking from is a vent hole. Its purpose is mainly to give the airspace behind the water pump a place to expand into the atmosphere, and a place for the coolant to escape when the water pump seal goes bad. Every vehicle I can think of, if it has a water pump, its got a vent hole. So, what you are faced with is replacing the water pump with a new one (seals and individual parts are not available for the water pump on your Honda).
