You didn't mention what OS you are running so I will assume that it's Windows XP (the default OS for that model).

This is the driver page for your machine. Scroll down to the R45 audio entry, download the driver and reinstall it.

Depending on your OS, but if you have Vista or 7 then the built in driver search is quite good.
Uninstall the network adapter in device manager.
dont let it install the driver automatically, instead use search internet option and it should find the right 1.

My benq joybook r45 won't boot. the battery is fine.. the screen will go brighter/dimmer.. and attaching an lcd doesn't work.. what is wrong with this machine?

a number of things could be wrong- bad ram, bad motherboard. a bad hard drive will still usually get you a post screen. if you are at least getting a post screen, i would look towards hard drive issues.
