the engine does not turn over at all< just a slight sound of computer coming on

    has a fully charged battery.

I put 3 gallons of gas, but when the bike is switched to on the fuel gauge shows no gas.

I had a klr before so the fuel injection is new to me, no choke and no reserve...

Does this bike have anything similar?

Is there a way to feed the gas into the engine manually?

When I put the key in and turn to on, all lights come on and so do the gauges.

When I go to hit the ignition / run switch it does absolutely nothing.

I dont know if theres a problem of fuel not getting to the engine and is there a way to fix that manually????

Please help. New bike... and it not turning on just sucks.

not being able to get to the dealer for the next 3 days sucks even more...

am i missing something or doing something wrong???

from time to time with everything done correctly i push the starter button and nothing. I have yet to find out what is the cause, but in 5 minutes or less it suddenly starts.  only thing is the check engine light is on for awhile, which makes me think the ecu knows I am pushing the button and records it not working or some other system is not reporting a clear to start signal and so the ecu is not closing the switch f or the circuit to the starter work.  at some point i will make the long trip to the dealer and have them read the ec. and have them fix it, still want to know for future reference.

Ok
you have a problem with the starter not turning the engine. so we probily not sending a signal to the starter.
you realy confused me when you started talking about gas and choke?
if the engine doesnt turn over none of this even matters.

these new bikes have many safety features .
you have a sensor for netural and you have a sensor for your kickstand and a sensor for your clutch
and all of these have to be workinf right for your engine to turn over.
so with your kickstand up and the bike in netural and the clutch lever pulled in
it should turn over and start.
when it doesnt you need to check your wiring to the switches one might have come loose.
or could be a bad switch.
let us know what you find

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

If I may suggest:

  • re-charge fully the battery. It may have run down on the previous tries;
  • thereafter, switch IGN to ON and verify pump running felt on the tank;
  • neutral, engine switch ON, IGN switch ON, clutch IN, start.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Other than to reset by removing negative battery cable, could not think of anything at the moment that would cause a new bike to fail. I would assume that you check the documentation (manual) for possible alarm/security/immobilizer).

2007 Triumph Tiger 1050. I crossed the wires on the battery with the key on.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

Probably took out the Engine Control Module. You need a good electrician, or shell out $259 on a guess. Or according to this, it fries the rectifier, (the white smoke you saw)

2010 Triumph Tiger 1050. When hot it won't go in neutral, fitted new cable, clutch, oil and filter. Can you help? Thanks.

Question edited for clarity and add maker.
Question moved to proper make model category.

That is normally cause by bent or damaged selector forks, weak or broken springs. fortunately that aren't too far into the gearbox and accessible from the side cover.

ABS Light burns after monting new tyres. New tyres, Dunlop Rodsteron (front and back) on my Tiger 1050 2008 ABS feels good, but the ABS light is burning :-(. Any experience on this?

Unfortunately you have to go to a Triumph dealer as this is a software problem that needs to be reset via your diagnosic port, the only machine that will do this is a dealer machine or a mac tools ET80 eobd reader which costs about £79 but will read any other engine management problems that you will encounter which seem to come up if you do anything to a triumph, even if you change the battery, If you cant find a mac tools dealer in your area then contact [email protected]
Hope this helps

Can I go off road?

I think that the new 1050 is not as convidence inspiring as the older models, but I found it very stable when on wider forest service type roads. The rims are cast, so much more easily bent. My 1050 felt great as I would stand on the pegs and use my body more. Would slide it out to the side a few times, intentially, and did not feel out of control either.
