SOURCE: my 2006 dyna street bob efi back fires
that is usually caused by a too rich main jet
dumping too much fuel and it is igniting it in the pipe
SOURCE: I have error codes on 2006 HD street bob. Bike will not start.
The codes are the following depending on your bike (EFI or Carb).:
P0373 CKP Sensor Intermittent Carb
P0373 CKP Sensor Intermittent EFI
P0374 CKP Sensor Not Detected Carb
P0374 CKP Sensor Synch Error EFI
U1255 Missing Message at Speedometer EFI
U1255 Serial Data Error/Missing Message EFI
U1255 Serial Data Error/Missing Message Instruments
U1255 Serial Data Error/Missing Message TSM/TSSM
this could be a number of potential things or maybe just a loose connection or ground somewhere. you are probably best to go to a shop, sorry.
SOURCE: can i change exhaust on 09 dyna street bob to
On the '09 bikes, you can't change anything wihout messing up the computer so I'm told. I don't work on the computer controlled bikes because of this. So, basically I only work on the older bikes, 2000 and before. Just go to your local Harley shop or independent dealer and talk to them. But my dyno guy says that the only way around the factory computer is something like a Power Commander or other "break out box".

Just a thought.Aren't late model sportster forks,on the 1200"s,49mm?Check that manual to see if the procedure is the same.If not then guess which one is right.Don't know bout late models but the early mm lower sliders had a fiber washer that could get damaged if the last assembly bolt, allen head, wasn't put in just right.Good luck.
