When I start it up it allows fuel to go down the overflow pipe

Suzuki say not to fill the fuel tank to the top. fill it 3/4 full to allow for heat expansion.

Either the float is set to high, you have trash in the lines, or the more likely scenario is the atmospheric vent line is pinched or plugged.

it is only doing it when the engine is running and stops when you stop the it
Make sure there is not rust in the tank or it will continually leak due to the rust getting into the carbs. Open the tank cap and see if it stops coming out of the overflow and if it does then there is a vent problem. If it still overflows more than likely the fuel system(carbs included) needs cleaning.
