I Have a 93 YJ and just last night i started to have problems. I'm going down the rooad and o want to switch gears but the clutch will not depress. if fells liek there is a brick under the pedal. If I wiggle the stick around and try to force a gear the clutch pedal eventually releases. Whats the deal?
I HAD THIS PROBLEM IN MY 93 YJ, TURNED OUT TO BE AN INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE ACTUAL CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER ITSELF (THE ONE NEXT TO THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER) IT HAS A "PISTON" TO ACTUALLY PUSH THE FLUID DOWN BELOW TO THE THROWOUT BEARING. AND IT WOULD GET JAMMED IN THERE. I REPLACED THE WHOLE UNTIL FOR $60 I BELIEVE AND HAVENT HAD A PROBLEM SINCE.
BEST OF LUCK
I can't remember if that year has a clutch master cylinder or not. Check to see if it does, it will be next to the brake master cylinder, and look like a single round silver dollar sized vesle. To the left of your brake master cylinder. check if its bone dry, if so refill it.
if this is not the case and it does not have a master cylinder, you need to check your clutch out.
