Buy a repair manual. I did this before and it took days. You have to almost dismantle the bike
SOURCE: Choke cable is jammed on my 1986 Goldwing
You can get a new cable at Babbit's. Go to the HANDLE SWITCH tab
SKU: 17950-MG9-000
CABLE, CHOKE (Honda Code 1524305) @ $21.94
Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx

fuel, fire, timing, and compression. Check those last two.Make sure spark is blue, and that battery is full.If the compression is in question you could temporarily boost it by using oil on top of the piston to make compression higher .
SOURCE: How do I remove the radio from the fairing on a 86 goldwing
In between the radio and the digital clock you will see a key hole. Using the ignition key, this will unlock the raio cassette unit and you can pull the entire unit out of the fairing. There are no bare wires, only copper contacts. By bending each of the contacts at the rear of the unit out a little, you may have better contact when the unit is inserted again. The contacts do become compressed over time and this might solve your problem.
