Will not start

I had the bike on the jack changing the gear oil in the rear end and tried starting it while on the jack to turn the tire with the motor. It cranked but when I put it in gear it died. I tried cranking it again without any luck. Now, when the key is tuned on, it will not do anything. No lights, no horn, no fuel pump, fuse on battery is changed and good. Kill switch on proper position, kickstand down, cluck engaged? I have not checked the spark plug?? No electrical power at all? Anyone have suggestions? Thanks

If your kickstand was down when you tried to put it in gear it will kill the engine. And not start until the clutch is pulled in.

If you're getting no lights then it is either the ignition switch or the battery is not making connection. Check the battery with a multi-meter. Check the fusebox with a multi-meter, any power to any fuses there with key on?

SOURCE: bike was running good...all i did was a tune up

Check that the plug wires are back on the correct cylinders. Sounds like you have two mixed up, causing the ignition to be out of time.

The kickstand circuit should be closed when the kickstand is up and open when it is down. Starter Relay?

How do i unlock rear wheels? 2007 pontiac torrent rear wheels are locked up and won't move,it has set for a long time .

You have to determine whether its just thr brake parts rusted or the bearings in the rear end and axles. Drain the gear oil from the rear end to see if there's any water in it.If it seems ok then put new gear oil back in and try this: Jack both wheels off the ground and put it on jack stands. Try breaking it loose by rapidly changing gears from reverse to drive and stomp on the accelerator. If it breaks loose that way it will be easier to get to the brake parts to see what needs to be replaced.

Rear end feels really loose when turning from stop

Check the tire inflation. Also, if you can jack the tire up off the ground, rotate the tire and feel across the top of the tread. If there seems to be any high/low spots or feeling of side-to-side tread movement, you may have a separated belt in the tire. This can cause the "loose" feeling you are getting.

On my 2004 suzuki vl 800 I want to take off the back tire on the left side where you put the gear oil does that come off with the tire

Yes, the oil reservior separates from the wheel assembly. Here is the whole process for removing the rear wheel assembly. In order to remove the rear wheel assembly, you are going to need a motorcycle lifting jack stand or similar device.

1. Stand the bike on the side stand

On the left side of the rear wheel:

2. Remove the two forward facing bolts.
3. Remove the allen head bolt with the wide head.

On the right side of the rear wheel:

4. Remove the brake adjuster nut on the end of the actuating lever.
5. Remove the Toque link nut at the bottom of the wheel assembly.
6. Remove the axle nut (castle nut and cotter pin). Move aside the now loose plastic former on the left side of the bike and remove the axle from that side. You will need to hold the castle nut while loosening the axle.

7. Place the motorcycle jack under the swing arm or chassis tubes to stabilize the rear end. Lift the motorcycle until the rear tire is just off the ground.
8. Remove the axle. When you remove the axle, the spacer under the left side cover will probably fall out.
9. Remove the three cap nuts (left side) and use a screwdriver to gently pry the wheel from the splined drive gear and place the wheel assembly on the ground.
10. Pull the wheel assembly rearward.

Reverse the process to replace the wheel.
Check the level of the final drive oil and fill as needed with SAE90 hypoid gear oil with a GL-5 rating. While you have everything apart, you should also check the brake pads and wheel bearings for wear and replace if necessary. God Bless and good luck!

MY HONDA FOURTRAX WAS VERY LOW ON REAR END OIL AND

I purchased a 2000 Honda Foreman 4x4 and changed all fluids. I put synthetic differential oil in the front and rear differentials.
The problem I am have after about 6 months is the front wheels are not pulling like they use to.
Before I changed the fluids with the front wheels jacked up I could not turn the front wheels but now with very little effort I can turn the front wheels.
Did I make a mistake in using the synthetic oil and if so what is my recourse?
