Fuel pump Is there a fuse or a reset switch for a 1991 Lincoln town car (4.6 liter)? I know someone who thinks his fuel pump is bad but is not sure if there is a reset or fuse that may be causing the problem.

There is a fuel pump inertia switch in trunk. this is designed to trip and cut pump off in wreck. if it gets bumped can trigger and cut pump off it is a button you push should be a sign on side of trunk showing it

I had a situation on my '91 Town Car where the Fuel Pump Fuse was repeatedly blowing after a few seconds of running the car.
I replaced the Fuel Pump RELAY (and the Fuse one more time) which resolved my issue. Apparently the relay was failing, allowing too much amperage across the circuit, and blowing the fuse each time. With both replaced, the engine starts and runs fine now.

Reset fuel switch and car won't stay on?
CHECK FUEL PRESSURE SHOULD BE 39 PSI REPLACE FUEL FILTER AND FUEL PUMP RELAY IF FUEL PUMP STILL TURNING OFF FUEL PUMP COULD BE FAILING.

Got an 92 town car not getting power to the fuel pump,i changed the fuel pump, and checked the switch in the trunk what else could it be
have you checked the fuse and relay thats in fuse box for the fuel pump ! if not that. you may have a bad wire to pump.

Not sure what you mean by firing orange. Flame out the tailpipe? Spark at a pug wire?.. If it has spark then add fuel and see if it starts ( even if breifly) If it does your ging after fuel related problems. Crash fuel cutoff switch needs reset, fuel pump or fuel pump relay or pug bad ( rusted ) Blown fuses (pump drawing too much power) ( Bad pump). Timing chain, ( or chains ) 4.6 can throw ting off and the mileage and adbuse needs to be high for this to happen. Spark can be weak but if you have it it should still run just give problems.

I started 86 lincoln town car and as I drove over a texas gate it died the engine turns but does not fire up/ start. I tried the fuel pump reset switch and I checked the fuel pump fuse and still no luck?
That old of a car may indicate the timing chain is bad.

How to reset fuel shut off switch in trunk of a 1997 lincoln ctnl
just press the button to reset it. Per your owner manual. Should only trip in an accident.

WHen you turn on the key, can you hear the fuel pump run for 5 seconds. The pump is in the fuel tank. listen there while someone turns the key on. report back.

1999 lincoln fuel pump
My fuel pump on my 1998 Lincoln Continental has no power. I checked the fuse it is good. I checked the fuel shutoff switch it was fine. I have traced the wire from the fuel shutoff switch to the fuel module driver in the trunk. The wire has power. I have also traced the positve wire from the fuel pump to the fuel driver on a different terminal, this wire has no power from the pump. I also changed the fuel driver, the low fuel pressure switch, the alternator, and battery.does anyone have any suggestion's?
