02 roadking surges and stalls

Yep, power spikes kill. Power spikes kill all. Power spikes kill all forever. Replace all and get a new surge protector that costs at least $99. If you never need it it is called insurance. I am in FL the capitol of lightning. High priced surge protectors are cheeeeep when lightning is there.

short in ignition switch- common in these bikes.. check it carefully

Double check that you have not accidently hit the kill switch.

if the bike was well maintained 53,000 km is not high for an 02. my 06 Roadking has 57,000 km.

Try and get the carbs balanced .You may have one in need of adjusting .

With the power commander on it you will need to hook up a laptop with the program for your bike and what mods it has and set the throttle posistion from idel to wide open throttle.

Not as far as I know. the starter circuit is controlled by 3 relays in the fuse box. these are operated by neutral switch, clutch switch and kill switch.

Try removing the power commander to see if that is your problem.
