SOURCE: Cannot locate oil plug drain

THE OIL DRAIN PLUG ON A 2001 FLSTF ( FATBOY) IS JUST IN FRONT OF REAR TIRE ON RIGHT SIDE OF BIKE. ITS IN A FRAME SUPPORT RAIL, YOU CAN TELL BY LOOKING AT IT CAUSE THE PLUG CAN BE REMOVED WITH A 1/4 ALLEN WRENCH OR A SOCKET (SORRY DON'T REMEMBER SIZE) AROUND THE WHOLE DRAIN PLUG.

Go to http://www.bikebandit.com for exploded views of almost every part of your bike. You may have to select a year or two earlier or later to find what you need. Thankfully, Harley don't change a lot very often.

Why Is My Harley Davidson EVO Backfiring on the Rear Cylinder?

Harley-Davidson EVO may be backfiring on the rear cylinder because it has a wasted spark system. If fuel and electrical is all good/correct it is often the case in these symptoms that motor cycle spark plugs that although looking good and firing outside of the engine are breaking down and will not fire under compression pressures on a power stroke but will fire unburned fuel on the unpressurized exhaust stroke when the plug again fires in a wasted spark ignition system and when so firing the result is a backfire, usually quite loud.

I have a 1999 fatboy what oil do I use in engine, trans & primary?

On a '99 Fatboy, you can use H-D Syn3 20W50 engine oil in all three locations. But, you can use most any lubricant you wish as long as it meets Harley's specifications. Amsoil, Royal Purple, Mobil V-Twin, just check the manufacturer's website for compatibility. On the Evo engines, I use H-D or Mobil V-Twin synthetic 20W50 engine oil. I use nothing but H-D transmission and primary lubricant in those two locations.

2006 Harley Davidson FLSTF Fat Boy engine oil drain plug location @

Hi, Gripzu86 for this scenario you will need your service manual that has all fastener torque specs -fluid capacities and a wiring diagram on the back pages, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can not find the best tool you ever bought for your Harley, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.

Cannot locate oil plug drain for my 2001 Fat Boy FLSTF

So I checked another Harley maintenance book of mine, and it says "On pre-2000 Softails, the drain is on the right side of the tranny near the dipstick. On the 2000 and later Softails, the drain is located on the bottom between the two shock absorbers. The drain plug on Dynas and FLs is located on the bottom of the transmission case next to the oil drain."

I got this from another site, I was going to say, it might not be on the bottom, but I found this, seems nobody can find it. Hope this helps.
