My day time lights are not coming on anymore, but my headlights work normally. which fuse am I looking for?

It appears that the add on driving lights might have been wired into the same line somewhere before the light sensor that automatically switch them with the headlights when the light level changes, as they both went dead when the switch wired to the add on driving lights shorted out... I looked for a blown fuse, but couldn't find it... and the owners manual, and information on the inside cover are both too vague to be of help...

SOURCE: Assumed blown fuses - looking for fuse panel on 2003 Chevy Impala

I don't know about the rear defrost, but there are 2 fuse boxes inside the car. Just inside the doors on the far sides of the dash. The covers sit between the dash and the doors. There are holes to stick your fingers in, and pull the covers off.

The fan issue, may be different then the prob. I had, I didn't have speed 1 or 2 on mine.
I don't remeber what the part is called, but it's some resistor board deal, that sits up under the dash on the Pass. side, right up against the firewall, it's a pain to get the new one in, once the old one is out though, so be careful not to crack the board. Ask a dealer, they will know what it is. I think it costed me like $30.
I hope that helps.

SOURCE: 2004 chevy impala no headlights

there's a button on the right side of the steering wheel that says serv push that button. It's put right there for when they use them as police cars you can cut the headlights off. You will probably notice that dash lights are on.

SOURCE: headlights won't work Chevy K-10 Pickup

With electrical problems I always look for a bad ground wire, especially on older vehicles. Look for any wire that goes to an inner fender or the engine, there maybe a faulty relay in the circuit too. good luck, Chuck

SOURCE: headlights wont come on, but parking lights work...i dont get it

Was sent in by another poster, just posting his results which fixed mine. Problem was relay $50.00 at GM only.

Check the relay module. 45 or 46. on the engine relay block. you can swap the two they are the same part number, then you will know. Dont start the engine, just check the lights. If it works replace the relay module. You may have to order the part from the parts store. Or go to the dealer to get it.

SOURCE: 2000 Grand Am SE Headlights and Tailights Stay On

Start by setting your auto headlight switch to off if this solves it replace your headlight switch If your car is equipped with daytime running lights there could be a short bridging them with your auto head lights look for broken or frayed wires do this also if you have installed or had someone install an aftermarket stereo or speakers/sub woofer, amplifier. Good Luck with this

Looking for a positive connection for headlights to attach driving lights

driving lights should be wired separte from the headlights and power should come from the battery and be with an inline fuse and relay, if you connect to headlights you may blow the headlight fuse due to amp draw on the same fuse and may heat wiring or headlight switch and cause premuture failure, good day,

I have a 1983 Chevy S10 pickup. With headlights off all gauges work normal. When you pull the headlight switch on all the panel lights except the windshield wiper switch locator light never turn on and all...

take a look at the dash ground wire located next to the right of ebrake release handle. if the bole holding the ground wire is loose, which was quite common it will cause all kinds of feed back problems, like described in the comments section to your question.

Insterment panel light out.

When you say you replace the fuse 3 times, is because the fuse have blown? If so, there is a short in the system and will need expert help to trace the short.
Does the day time running light stay on during day light hours and does the lights comes on without activating the headlight switch during night hours when the park brake is released?
If so, this of course is normal condition. If not then the day time running light circuit needs diagnosing along with the body module circuit. Headlight switch will also need to be tested.
