SOURCE: 1998vt1100t stopped at the store came out bike

Have you checked the cutout on the starter switch? This start switch sticks occasionally and you have to joggle it a few times to make it work.-----

You front head light gets it power from the starter switch assembly so that it can kill the head light while the engine is trying to start.----------

3 things to check.
The Bulb.
The Turn/signal/dimmer/horn switch .
the start switch.
And of course the wiring.
These are all thats involved in the headlight circuit.------------

The starter switches on Honda brands in particular are known to fail from owners hooking up additional accessories and wiring them into the headlight circuit so they only operate when the headlight is on. The starter button is part of the headlight circuit and passes current to the headlight when the button is not depressed. When depressed, the headlight goes out and the voltage is directed to a starter relay.

Additional loads on the headlight circuit cause excessive current through the starter button contacts which causes heat build-up that melts the plastic holding these contacts in place. Eventually the switch gets shorted.By pass the switch and check. This will help. The best option is to replace the start switch.-------

This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

SOURCE: Why does the 30 amp circuit breaker behind the battery box on my 1990 fatboy click once when i push the ignition button? The bike won't start.

Try to reset the circuit breaker. also check for an earth fault on the starter motor .If this is not a circuit breaker and is a relay, you should make sure everything is ready for a start, (ie : in neutral, sidestand up and clutch in and that the battery is charged.) the neutral light being "on" doesn't mean it is in neutral. I hope this helps.

1995 Mercedes e 320 driver side headlight stopped working. Bulb is good

Solution: If both headlights aren't working, it's unlikely that a bulb is at fault. The likely cause is a fuse, headlight relay, headlight switch, dimmer switch or a wiring fault. ... Consult your owner's manual to locate the main fuse for the headlight circuit and replace that fuse with one having the same amp rating.
OR
Most total headlight failures are caused by a bad component like a fuse, relay, or module. Wiring problems can also cause both headlights to stop working. High beam headlights don't work or low beams don't work. The cause: A burned out bulb, or a problem with the high beam switch or relay.

Tail lights and parking lights won't work on my

If neither your front or rear lights are coming on I would think it was a problem with the headlight switch. Even if that switch is bad, your brake lights should still work when you press on the pedal. Usually a good indication to determine if the headlight switch is the problem is to see if your dash lights are not working as well. If those aren't working it's usually the headlight switch itself. If the dash lights DO work then your headlight/tailight relay is probably defective. Swap with a similar relay to test.

Any ideas why my '90 Goldwing SE won't start and has no dash lights but the radio does work?

Check your main fuse. It's probably a 30 amp. It may be tied in with your battery and starting solenoid all the wires from your battery that should take you to the starter solenoid and look for 30 amp fuse or in your mmanual you should find

Left headlight

If the other head light works ,it won't be a fuse

Check every fuse in the car, won't take long &
the fuses will protect a complete circuit, not just
a couple head lights.

The light switch has a circuit breaker not a fuse.

Have you removed & tested the lamp it'self

No owners manual? Need that for fuses & bulbs/lamps

1997 Ford E350 clearance lights don't work

First check the fuse, the clearance lights are not factory in most cases and the wiring gets shorted from poor wiring. Once you replace the fuse see if the lights come on, if the fuse blows right away find the wiring to the clearance lights and disconnect them, if the short goes away it is a I said the wiring is shorted. If you don't have the owner's manual you should be able to download it at the link provided. It should be fuse #10 a 20 AMP in the interior fuse box. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/97ecoog1e.pdf
