Need schematic for 1997 Suzuki Kz800

during the battery replacement did you manage to either forget or damage a wire that powers up say your ignition module... ?

check battery could be weak can read 12.5V still not good. battery connection.coils or cap.vacuum leak.

check for your cam sensor or crank sensor .

change the spark plug?

pull the plugs then crank motor you may find one cylinder full of gas and that will keep it from cranking, if it cranks without the plugs allow it to dry for a bit , make sure plugs are dry then install and hopefully GO!

Have you tried replacing earthing cable

clean the battery cable terminals and battery posts till it show's bright metal , put some grease on the posts and tighten the terminals.

When you say it won't start, do you mean it cranks but won't fire, or it just won't crank? If it just won't crank, you could be having an issue with the starter relay. The often become intermittent before failure. Many owners do not know there is a starter relay because it was added as a recall item i order to protect the iginition switch from burnout. The starter relay is located in the very front of the engine compartment, just to the left of the battery, on the back side of the radiator crossmember.
