My 1974 T150 Triumph Trident motorcycle has Smiths black faced speedo and rev counter fitted. Although there are holes to take a bulb and holder in each, none is fitted. I can't find any to purchase so ask...were they ever fitted from new? Does anybody know where I can buy a pair of bulbs and holders? Are the holder's rubber shrouded or are they sprung into position? Thanks

Push the rubber boot forward from behind and the bulb glass cover should pop out from the front of the instrument panel with a little prying with your finger tip. You don't have to push it far, just enough for the cover to pop out of the lip. Then you will be able to remove the bulb. I then use needle nose pliers to remove the bulb.

check the connections for the tach and spedo the mileometer is tied in wit the spedo and the tach should have some connection wit the coil

Hi Richard, Just a thought, I had a similar problem fitting Led bulbs to my Volvo and sorted it by putting the correct resistors in line.
Beware these get very warm so need safe/cool area for mounting.
