SOURCE: where is the oil filter on my yamaha V-star 1100

On the right side of the bike (right side when ou are sitting on it) just above the rear brake lever behind a small circular plate. remove the plate and the oil filter is inside (you will easily see it). Warning---on these bikes you have to drop the front exhaust header and right floor board in order to change the oil filter unless you install a after market oil filter relocation kit. If you plan on changing your own oil it is highly recommended to install this relocation kit.

SOURCE: Clicking noise from rear wheel

Is your bike chain drive? It sound like you have a link in the chain hanging up. Check it and lube it.

SOURCE: I have a flat tire

First jack the bike from the rear, then you have to unscrew the diff bolts on the left hand side of the swing arm, unscrew the rear brake rod, and the drum stabilizer, then unscrew the main hub bolt and gently pull out the wheel. Be careful when pulling it out l as the prop-shaft tends to fall quickly and you might get hurt or damage it or paint-work, and the diff has a tendency of detaching from the wheel.

SOURCE: remove rear wheel from yamaha 650 v star

The final drive has a spline shaft. Raise the rear wheel off the ground , loosen the rear axle nut, take out the axle bolt, knock out the spacer , unbolt the rear brake caliper and hang it so you do not stress the brake hose ( unhook the brake rod and unbolt the stabilizer rod for drum brakes) , grab the wheel, and slide it sideways away from the final drive. The wheel should slide right off the spline of the final drive and roll out the back under the fender. If the wheel won't slide past the final drive let the air out of the tire. Be sure to coat the spline of the final drive with moly60 paste from your local Honda dealer when reassembling.

Carb diagram

Here's an exploded view of the carb:

http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/2005-yamaha-road-star-spoke-wheels-xv17at-carburetor/o/m145401sch301709

It doesn't really show the fuel line (item #31 is a drain line, to drain float bowl when item #6 is loosened)

The fuel line needs to connect somewhere around the float bowl.

Then there's this view:

http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/2005-yamaha-road-star-spoke-wheels-xv17at-intake/o/m145401sch301708

It shows the fuel pipe (item #31) going into the back side of the card (intake manifold side)
