combustion chamber is tooooo hot. Mixture is way to lean
SOURCE: 2007 yamaha yz450f... while riding
Exhaust leaks near the exhaust port can draw air into pipe on deceleration and detonate any unburnt fuel leaving engine, causing backfire and high temps.
An overly lean fuel mixture on the engine can make decel backfire worse too.
SOURCE: yamaha xt225 serow front exhaust pipe glows red within 5mins of starting also running rough
i had same problem on my serow 225,glowing red pipe no power and running rough rebuilt carb richend mixture tried alsorts ending up reset valves/tappets slightly bigger than spec and hey presto running cooler ,no glowing exhaust and plenty of power. it seems the bike started ok but as it warmed up and things expanded the valves were not shutting properly even though they were set right acording to manual. hope this is of some help to someone cos it seems alot of people get the same problem as i had thanks Eddie T Accrington England
