Whistling Noise whilst driving

I have a whistling noise coming from my car, it gets louder the faster i go, and still happens when i put the clutch in, but when im going along at around 30mph and start slowing down for traffic lights etc and put it into 1st gear the noise goes really high pitched and loud and its a struggle to get it into 1st. the noise doesn't happen when i'm still, and its constant when im driving along, and seems to 'slow down' as i brake.

As with all unusable vehicle noise complaints it is important that the noise be listened to first hand, so have a shop test drive this with you on board to point out the noise to them when you hear it start in your vehicle

Why am i hearing a whistling noise coming from my front wheel?

It could be what is called the squeal warning on the front disc brake pads. If so, it indicates the pads are worn to the point that they should be replaced before they begin to do damage to the rotors. Pretty easy for someone who knows how to jack the car up, remove the wheel and take a look how much brake pad is left.

What would cause whistling noise near pully and belt area noise gets louder with acceleration

The engine serpentine belt may be worn or wet. The belt slips, causing a high pitched squealing or whistle noise. The other possiblility is a bearing beginning to go out on one of your belt driven components

I have a 98 merc villager. when i acclerate i hear a whistling noise... it gets louder the faster i go. but stops when i slow down or stop the car??

HI and welcome to FixYa!

You may want to check on the air cleaner. Please make sure that it is tight and secured. Check the fittings on the throttle body too. If they are loosen they can make a whistling noise.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Hi i've recently fitted a performance air filter to my 1.2 8v authentique clio and now theres a whistling noise coming from the throttle body when the accelarator is push to a certain place please help me...

That's what happens with performance air intakes and filters. These are added to help let the air get sucked in better and faster. The result is with the air moving faster it can get noisy and even whistle. A big reason why the factory air intake doesn't have good performance is so that they are quiet for the everyday person.

Whistling noise under the hood of my Honda civic.

Thhis noise could be a mutitude of issues. If you have some dash board spray, try spraying some on the top pully staying away from the fans and belts. Also position your face away from the expected spray. Water can be used but it not as affective. Then let me know what happened. Later DRRXR :)
