Check fuel pressure with a gauge or at least
listen for the pump to come on when key is turned on
Cut that fuel filter open, so you understand what it does
They used to get clogged when fuel tanks were metal,
but you never get a not start, only lack of power at around
25 mph
Are you sure you just don't have a no idle condition
It runs 2 mins so what are you loosing, battery voltage,
fuel,spark ?
The 300Z runs great, has good voltage and I just replaced the filter. The one difference I noticed last night is when you turn the key on I don't hear the pump until the car starts, then I hear the pump for two minutes, pump quits, car dies. I can immediately restart it and it does the same thing.
I would be really guessing to say the fuel pump relay isn't staying energized. I never suggest relays as everyone here does as they seldom ever fail in your lifetime but it is possible the primary relay coil is week
Would the pump work if i ran a hot line to the pump?
If you going after a known non working fuel pump then get a wiring diagram & work from the relay & energize it or by pass at that piont to see if the pump runs. If not then your chasing a dirty gound somewhere or a bad pump if that is even your overall issue

Fuel injected or carb? Make sure fuel line itself is clear. Some pumps are designed to self regulate (carb systems) some continually pump and a psi regulator sends back the excess fuel back to the tank (fuel inj systems) If the line is obstructed then pump can't deliver fuel fulltime.
If you think pump is not on consistent, try running a dedicated wire through a switch directly to the pump. If it works then you are looking for an electrical fault going to pump. Good luck.

Did you change the fuel filter? It could be clogged.
SOURCE: 1990 300 zx starts fine though sometimes rich.
Sounds like you have a problem with the coolant temp sensor, could be sensor or wiring. The coolant temp sensor tells the computer how warm the engine is so that it know how to adjust the mixture, a cooler engine needs more fuel. If the sensor or wiring is messed up, the computer gets a signal that the engine is very cold and the computer gives full rich to the injectors.

you may have a blocked fuel filter or blocked catalic converter you might also like to try running with fuel cap off just in case your fuel ventilation system has blocked up cheers
