Would anyone have diagrams on the starter motor of a cbx 750 f shaft driven
or any diagrams of lay out of the engine etc of this motorbike

I have a 1982 honda cbx 550 f 2 and have problems with the starter motor i need to replace it any ideas

you can try to rebuild it your self there very easy

here are a few thing to try first

Starter Motor Does Not Operate or Does Not Turn Engine Over
1. Engine run switch in OFF position.
2. Ignition switch not in IGNITION position.
3. Discharged battery, loose or corroded connections (solenoid chatters).
4. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
5. Electric starter shaft pinion gear not engaging or overrunning clutch slipping.
6. Bank Angle Sensor tripped and ignition switch not cycled OFF then back to IGNITION position.
7. Security system activated.
8. Motorcycle in gear and clutch not pulled in.
9. Main fuse not in place.
10. Jiffy stand down and transmission in gear.

How to remove my cbx 750f starter motor

Disconnect positive battery lead,remove starter motor cover,trace heavy cable back to starter solenoid and disconnect,remove starter motor mounting bolts,remove motor by drawing it to the right and lift clear of its recess,thread cable clear of frame.Take your time and good luck

Hi, I had shut down my Honda cbx 750 for 3 weeks

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initial checks would be for the main fusible link inside the starter magnetic switch. Thereafter, check for the presence / absence of +12 on all the fuses box, main connector, battery + terminal and ignition switch.

A wiring diagram of the Honda CBX750F would be of help as reference. Should you be interested, a copy maybe found here.

Starter motor not working on honda cbx 750 f shaft drive

Hi .......... It's only held in place by two set screws, you don't need to strip engine.
