Hi, can anyone help. My 08 Daytona 675 engine management light flashes 7 times then stops for a few seconds then flashes 7 times again. It started after the bike went into a wheelie during a very enthusiastic start !! It seems to run ok, but am i doing the bike harm to leave it as it is ?

Engine management light was on permernantly after replacing battery, took advice and let bike idle until thermo fan started, turned bike off and let thermo fan stop, restarted bike and engine management light went off. this proceedure resets engine management system. GREAT ADVICE thanks.

I had the same problem when i fitted a racing chip, the engine management light came on when i reconnected the battery, the workshop manual says there is 2 reasons for this 1 is a fault has been detected and if it is not logged in the memory idle the engine until the auto fan starts then switch off and allow a full shutdown of the electrical system, then restart. If this does not work then the fault has been logged in the memory and only the agents can remove this with the diagnostic tool.

Ive had this happen to my daytona 955i reason is because youve disconnected the battery , on reconnection of the battery you must run the bike through 3 heat cycles ie the fan must run 3 times then the ecu resets itself and the engine management light will go off. this information is correct every time you take battery off, to change or charge up just run your bike standing still until fan runs 3 times after this light will go off

I had the same problem with engine management light staying on, I'm not sure what I did, but I checked the flap and moved it with a thin wire that fits through the wire screen, turned bike on while looking at the flap and accelerating, then light went off. I also tapped on the exhaust valve, moved the adjustment just a bit, but not much, and maybe that's what solved the problem. One of the two things I did above solved my problem. Good luck!!!

My 2009 triumph daytona 675 had some melting from the voltage regulator!!! nasty tar like residue all down the bike, so took fairing of and bought a used voltage regulator, turn ignition on and all lights...

Hi,
Its possible the ignition module has failed caused from the over voltage supply when the voltage regulator overheated.
Have the ignition checked for spark, if this is ok then it has to be a fuel delivery problem which unfortunately could be the ECU.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Jason

Can you check it with an other battery if its was once under the 3 volts the battery is not good anymore. I think the battery had his best time.

Engine Management Light

check wiring connections under tank, this was a common fault that the EGR valve plug came of or the Lambda sensor had poor connection, another favourite is jump starting a dead bike from a car, 85+ amps 12v into 16 amsp dont go and stiffs the ecu voltage control unit, ouch!
