SOURCE: i have a yamaha xvs 650 dragstar converted to a trike

bike needs a new battery. battery is no longer capable of holding a full charge no matter what a trickle charger says. batteries wear out over time. expect 2-3 years from a motorcycle battery.

the clicking sound you hear is the relay flipping between open and close as it tries to get the right amount of amperage to turn the starter.

SOURCE: 02 Yamaha xvs 650 dragstar classic that misfires when it warms up

First I would change all the spark plugs, and if that didn't make a difference then it sounds like the coil(s) are warming up and breaking down........when it starts to skip take a good pair of pliers with good rubber on them and pull each spark plug wire, when you get to the one that the running doesn't change then I would replace that particular coil

SOURCE: Battery replacement and parts for Yamaha Dragstar XVS 400

Hi there,

the best battery replacement for your bike would be a low-maintenance sealed battery. Sealed types last longer but they are expensive. XVS650 is a fit but make sure you specify if its either a custom or a classic, they get confused by these.

I"d recommend the linbar by lindby customs for the engine guard. THey're practical.

Hope this helps,

SOURCE: Hi can i fit any yamaha master cylinder onto my

The star line r all about the same up to the big boars I'm almost certain the vstar uses the same basic equipment since the dragstar is a limtd factory custom vstar anyway. If not the lines and weight to stoping power will b the same even if u need to do some fab work it's easier than u think and as soon as u start fabricating your own mounts or fixes to whatever it is you'll b hooked for life till you do like I I'd and turn a vstar650 into a 103 HP ridged frame twin meccunie carbs sticking out each side of the tank board to 100 cc beast hav fun and do your oun thing buying off the shelf of made to fit ain't custom know matter how much it cost you'd b surprised how easy it was to fit harley bars rims fenders and controls on a lot of *** bikes but the air cooled yamahahs r the best looking with out the **** radiator ruining the cleen lines that you create for your own bike

Xvs 650 dragstar timing chain adjustment. how do you do it?

That engine uses automatic cam chain adjusters. There is no manual over-ride or adjustment. If the cam chain is loose, you need to replace the adjuster at the least and possibly the cam chain and guides.
