The fuel pump uses vaccum preasure to move fuel to the carb. If you have a vaccum leak it will not flow. Check all vacuum hose connections.

2003 Sonata 2.7-b. When I start it idles for 15 seconds and then cuts off.If I try to excelerate it choke and cut off.Ignition ON the fuel pump works and the fuel gushes out the fuel rail. 430kkm.
Connect a pressure gauge in the fuel line Check pressure and flow , if pressure is low check , leaks, pressure relief valve or regulator, fuel pump. If pressure is high and flow is low replace fuel filter, the fuel pressure must hold with the engine stopped , if not replace non return valve or fuel pump.

My JD 777 ztrak will not start.Replaced inline filter,fuel pump. Eng turns over but will not fire off. Pulled the fuel line off and no fuel. blew air in line and started flowing but then stops again.
hi this might sound silly but check your inline fuel filter is flowing the right way there should be a arrow on the filter its acts like a non return valve as well as filtering the fuel hope this helps

I replaced my fuel pump on 94 jeep grand Cherokee, and now it turns over but wont stay started to drive? please advise
which engine, not posting the engine means all posts will be GENERIC. (basics, and non specific)
the car has what is called ASD and there are 6 things that trip this.

there is no fuel flow.
what does that mean.
1: i think it.
2: sparks good, and test fuel works?
3: you cracked the fuel rail and its dry. (the near useless dribble test)
4: fuel pressure is 0 cranking or 10psi, both are DOA.

The next time it does not start have someone crank it over while you tap on the mass air flow sensor,if starts then remove the mass air flow sensor and clean the small wires inside of it using a non-chlronated brake cleaner let dry 10 minutes then re-install.

I have a 1994 bonneville i have fuel and fire ignition module is good i pulled the 1 and 4 to test the cps and i got fire any sugestions
Take the handle of a screwdriver and tap on the mass air flow sensor while someone else tries to start it.If it starts then take the mass air flow sensor off and clean the small thin wires with a non-chlronated brake cleaner and let dry for 10 minutes and re-install.

I think you are on the right track. It sounds like you have a fuel flow problem and those are the two items that immediately come to mind. I would start with the filter and then move on to the fuel pump if there is no change.

Sounds like either a leaky fuel regulator, or fuel injectors.

Intermittent fuel flow problem. Non coded. New fuel filter. Will not start. What should be checked before we tackle the fuel pump? 88 S10 2.5
If vehicle attempts to start but wont stay running at first and then just wont even start. You may as well break down and change the pump. But any other info will help me help you.

Bmw 325tds diesel flowing back to tank when parked
usual problem ,valves in injector worn for the fuel pump.easy quick fix this one ,fit a non return valve in the inlet pipe,check flow direction on valve when fitting and evan better as well is another in the bleed off return pipe .valves available from a motor factor or a specialist garage like bosch or lucas ,cut pipe and fit the valve with a piece of rubber pipe to connect the valve in line.or listen to the people who want to milk the golden cow and have the whole injector pump overhauled .

my tgb 125 scooter bike wont start there is power to the dash and lights but wont start it has fuel it has only 300km on it its less then 2 months old it wont even kick over with the kick start , i do all the steps i hold in the brake and push the start button nothing happins please help
