I have klr 250 timing issue, what can I do?

Hi Dave:
I just bought my first KLR yesterday and a service manual came with it.
Check the milage on yours??????
Really ony 2,200? That's barely broken in and amazing for a '94.
The hiss from the airbox would indicate a bad intake valve or at least that I would be checking compression to start trying to figure it out.

There is oil coming out through the carbs into the four rubber tubes going into what appears to be an (airbox?). Not sure what the box is for. Oil is leaking from box onto the ground through a hose that I...

air boxes usually have a hose coming out of them for just that... to drain the air box of oil or water that gets in it. it doesnt attach to anything, it's just to drain the box onto the ground instead of all over the bike.

Have a 2000 kawasaki ninja zx6 bike spudders .. so I took off airbox and filter and it runs fine . Then I just took off filter and put airbox and then it sputters again . Any suggestions ? Thanx

G'day,
I have a suggestion.
It worked with no airbox( airbox lid I guess you mean).
Then I would think that your problem would almost certainly be a blockage or restriction to the air flow entering the airbox intake.
Look in the airbox, with the lid off-And see where the air enters the box- the air ducts on each side.
Make sure these are clear of any obstruction.
Check the air intake vent in the front of the fearing for obstructions.
I feel pritty sure you'll find your problem here(I hope!).
See how you go
Kind regards Andrew Porrelli

How to remove carburetor air box

You have to remove the battery box first, to remove the battery box you will need to unclip the fuse box, unclip the flasher unit and unscrew the 2 retaining screws which hold the ignitor.
Then slacken the clips on the air intake rubbers between the air box and the carbs, and remove the 2 airbox retaining screws postioned at the rear of the air box on top.
The airbox can then be pulled backwards away from the carbs,
If the air box is to be removed from the frame then you will need to remove the carbs first to allow room to manuver the airbox and then its a case of fiddle till you get it clear.

Blower motor

yes they are also very hard to remove the bottom half is not so bad you have to remove the lower plastic cover to the airbox once you have done this test for power to the motor and if you cant do this ,take a hammer put the fan switch on high and smack the bottom half of the motor not to hard but be persuasive until it comes on then you know your motor is bad they will always work again for a little while if you do this, in order to remove the fan you are supposed to pull the dash back but i have done this by removing everything to get to the motor inside as mentioned then remove the windshield wiper cowl and reach down in side the airbox from out side the car with an 8 mm ratchet i believe,, and remove the nut holding the fan blade on the motor, separate the motor from the blade and you can now remove the motor from inside the car, take your time and you will also have to disconnect the fresh air flap door from the cable to the control unit first before you can reach your hand in from outside the car please rate -jeff
