2 stroke bike are very dependent on compression. and being a bike that is 12 years old my best educated guess is that the top end needs to be rebuilt. i usually have to have the top end done on my honda about every three years.

ok then loss of compression, just googled it, its a 4 stroke so. it could be a prob with a bent or burnt out valve, or it could be rings or piston. if you got a compression tester great, if not it'll be the finger on the hole method with spark plug removed. i will presume theres hardly any compression as in it hardly moves your finger. noe to tell wether piston or valve the old trick is to put a small amount of iol in cyclinder (2 stroke best as easier to clean/burn out later), now if compression seems better you know its a valve problem if compression the same its piston or rings. if its valves your have to remove head to inspect and replace what valve has gone. if its piston or rings the barrel has to come off too. happy to advise more when you know which one of these have gone. by the way if it is the head/vavles its often more practical just to get another one with valves fitted from a breakers but thats up to you.
