How to drain gas with fuel injection

I want to put my bike in storage and I just want to drain the gas from my 2005 road king. It has fuel injecton, that I'm not familiar with. Due to economics I can not afford a service manual. Can anyone help me?

Remove the gas line before the fuel injection and let it drain. Make sure that your gas valve is opened though so that it will flow. You can also do it from the gas selector it will drain that way also. If this helped please rate. Thank you

I actually just posted about this on my blog, rubberontheroad.wordpress.com
I've actually heard that it's better to leave gas in the tank while you're storing and then put some additive in it. I believe it's better for the tank. On the other hand, you probably want to empty the fuel line which involves taking out the fuse for the fuel injector then running the bike (an explanation with pictures is on the site). I did this with my '05 Dyna Wide Glide before putting it into long term storage.

2000 Harley-Davidson FLHR/FLHRI Road King. It ran great no problem but leaking fuel line. I replaced with new fuel line but now won't start?

Question edited for a lot more clarity, plus typos.
Question moved from 'Gas Motorcycles' to model category.

You need to track the buzzing, but these come in either carburetor or Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) My guess is that yours is fuel injected and the buzzing is the fuel pump relay.

How to remove harley road king gas tank fuel 2005 model

I have a 2008 Road King Classic (and have had the tank off), so maybe they're similar.
Disconnect the negative lead of the battery.

My dash has a screw under the nose of the seat (which must be removed) and one in the front.
lift dash and unplug harness.

If you have a gas gauge in the left hand gas cap, underneath tank unplug it's connector.

The fuel line has a quick disconnect. Pull fitting, and line unplugs.
There is a check valve inside to keep gas from leaking, but it's a good idea to have a catch cup, just in case some residual fuel flows out.

From there, I have a bolt on each side of the front of the tank, one in the center rear, then lift it off.

02 road king fuel problems have a half tank of fuel starts misfires and back fires though exhaust and starts hard

If you have a carb equipped bike and the bike has been lowered in the rear, you could be running out of gas on your main fuel switch position. You may have to go to reserve at that point. If the petcock is located at the front of the tank, the fuel is more to the back end of the tanks if the rear end of the bike has been lower. If it's fuel injected, I have no idea.

1997 flhri road king is missing running rich and popping

According to your description, your bike is a FLHRI. The "I" indicates that it is fuel injected. There are no adjustments that the owner can make to the fuel system. You'll have to take it to a shop,

My harley davidson road king keeps cutting out like its running out of gas or vapor locking any ideas?

I had the same problem on my 06' (Fuel injected). It was the copper filament inside one of the wire going to the injectors. It took 3 visits to the dealer and 4 hours of investigation to find it.

Fiited a k and n filter to my 2000 road king but it would not start first thing in the morning and run **** until i put the old back in again, do i have to put on the fuel pack just to have sports air...

Although I don't do fuel injected bikes, if it were a carbed bike, I would say that you would probably have to rejet the carb when you changed the air filter to a free flowing model. The same applies to a fuel injected model too, I would suspect. But, it may be within the "range" of the onboard computer you have. Take it by a shop and ask if the fuel map can be changed to accommodate the K&N Filter.

Did you add gas additive and run motor prior to storage? If not Gum in carb could be the problem. If it won't kick over it's either gas or spark.Make sure the battery is fully charged,I have used starting fluid to start hard to start bikes with good results.Use Caution Read Directions.Good Luck

Bikes been in storage for 4 years

Your oil pan where you normally drain the oil when changing it IS the crankcase. I would also drain any gas from the fuel tank(s) and put fresh gas in it, and you will probably need a new battery.
