It sounds as if your starter motor is failing, But as you don't say what make and model your bike is I can't be more specific. It could also be a shorting starter relay. the speed the fuse blows at would give more information. If it blows immediately, the you are looking at an electrical short, if it takes a little while then you are looking at an electrical overload, indicating a failing starter.

SOURCE: 04 yfz 450 wont start with electrical start

i have a 04 yfz 450 quad. the compression ratio like yours is extremely high. ive had my battery go bad and found that another battery other than factory would turn over the engine, but would not start. i paid the 100 dollars for the factory battery and it fired right up. because of the high compression you need a high cranking battery.

SOURCE: just bought used bike, bought new motor hooked it all up, even new ecm's.test light shows power from all sources motor turns just wont start

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, check for the presence or absence of spark at the plug(s). If none, check if there is a +12 on one terminal of the ignition coil and a pulsating ACV on the other. Additionally, verify that the neutral light is lit. Try starting with the clutch lever pulled in and/or the side stand folded up.

Postback results of tests.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Spark plugs

If the lights won't even come on, the spark plugs are not the cause of that problem.

Make sure the battery cables at the opposite ends from the battery are connected tight and corrosion free.
Check that all the fuses are good.
For some reason the power isn't getting from the battery (if it is in fact charged up) to the electrical circuit (blown fuse, loose/disconnected wire, etc).

What is problem if previa wont start but turns over

You need spark to the plugs, fuel to the injectors, and normal compression. One of the three is missing.

85 Toyota Pick Up 22R (carb) not getting spark

Sounds like a crank sensor to me. I believe this will be found just below your bottom pulley [ crank pulley] . This is responsible for getting power to the coil. These are sometimes hard to get out . I just broke it off and used a socket. I don\'t know how you can test this sensor unless you have a wire test kit. I am not positive on this, but I\'m pretty sure. It sure sounds like it. Let me know how you make out.

1992 chevy cavalier rs. dash lights stopped working. car wont turn over. changed a blown fuse under dash . but still wont start

If the fuse blew, it may have been a symptom of a larger problem with your electrical system. I'd suggest testing your spark plugs, distributor and alternator, as well as jumping your battery. If it's not cranking at all, one of those should be the problem. A voltage multimeter is the tool to use; Walmart and AutoZone have them for $10-20.

Car wont start but starter is running and i dont here the fuel pump when i turn on the ignition key.Gas is full new spark plug new battery

Check for blown fuse or bad pump relay. If both are good, check for power at the pump itself. If present, the pump requires replacement. Hope this helps!

How do you know if you blow a fuse? i replaced my bulb and when i plugged back in i got a bit of a spark at the plug recepticle and now i get nothing... any ideas?

Well if you have blown a Fuse/Tripped a Circuit Breaker, FIRST, TURN OFF THE MAIN POWER SWITCH. Now, If a Breaker, simply flip the lever, the "other way" or, press the button, on the Breaker to "Reset" it. If a Fuse, you will have to withdraw the Fuse from the "Holder" and look to see if the Fuse Wire is intact.. a Blown Fuse will have the wire broken/melted. You then, effect repair by simply using a length of the correctly rated, Fuse Wire. Replacement Fuse Wire will be of different thicknesses, for different Current Ratings, usually, 5 Amps, 10 Amps, 15 Amps, & 20 Amps. Simply wrap one end of the Wire, around the contact, at one end, or if screw connection, then under there, wrap clockwise, then, .make it go through the little hole/slot in middle, and then, wrap it around the screw, or other end contact Then replace Fuse, turn back on the Power. Always do all this with nothing plugged into the power socket too..
