Hi,

Don't worry. The bike builds up a little oil at a time.
This is 2 stroke oil that is unburnt during combustion.
You might be running the bike a little rich.
A mix of 32/36 to one is good for outriding.

You should de-carbon the exhaust and replace the silencer packing. This will also give you some unexpected horse power.

Enjoy the ride !

Jon

Hi, my golf mk1 1.6 1995 model makes a tapping sound when i drive it but it stops when i idle

Sounds like to me a small exhust leak either
a exhust manafold gasket or exhust flange
gasket or cracked exhust manifold.
Anything else would be enteral meaning
valves need to be set, bad lifter, bad rod bearing,
bad oil pump, or timing chain tensioner,
BUT I would be willing to put my money
on an exhust leak or timing chain tensioner
it's one of the 2

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IF THE IS ENGINE LEAK

I'm presuming an oil leak?

Check around the sump where it bolts to the bottom end. Visually inspect the sump for holes (altho you would be losing oil pretty severly if there is). Check around the oil filter, might not be sealed right.

One way to narrow the leak location is get a sheet of card and put it on the ground under the engine bay overnight. It should show you where the oil is dripping from or what its dripping off.

Also Accents have a habbit of dropping oil level very quickly when they are getting close to requiring an oil top up.

My 1996 Toyota Camry is leaking oil in little spots on the ground when its parked, where could it be leaking from and how can i fix it?

You cannot repair the leak until you determine where it is leaking. More than likely it is leaking from the oil filter, oil pressure sending unit, or valve cover gasket. Check around the oil filter for a leaks and if you see oil on the filter then replace it. Check the oil pressure sending unit and if it is leaking replace it. Wipe all the oil off the bottom of the engine and any other place you see oil. Now place newspapers on the floor under the car and then start the engine and let it run for about 10 minutes and then shut down. Wait overnight and you can see where the leak is coming from.
