Check for charging system voltage to battery by testing for 13-15volts dc across battery posts w/ multimeter while bike is running.if less, check for ac voltage to regulator/rectifier w/ multimeter while bike is running.if there is voltge to module, it is most likely defective.if there is no voltage to module, follow wire loom from voltage reg. to electrical connector plug.unplug it, start bike, test for ac voltage at other side of connector on the electrical pins on the loom coming from the engine. if no power there, the charging coil, or the wiring from the coil is defect.

Have a 2000 Sprint rs won't start have spark change fuel pump an stepper motor cps sensor has 564 ohms changed computer saloon

Two things fixed mine first a new battery, the Sprint needs a really good charged battery to start, not just an old charged battery. Even jump starting didn't work for me. Second non ethanol fuel, these engines hate ethanol.

Fail to start

I think I would change the petrol in the tank as it may have become a bit stale. Also I would replace the battery.Make certain the replacement battery in fully charged before you try again.

Hi,i have a 600 triumph daytona it is not charging at all it has a fully charged new battery fitted it starts ok but with volt meter on terminals is showing 11.9volts running i know it should be 14volts or...

Usually we start with the regulator as it is the less costly and easiest to replace of the two. Additionally replacing the stator and regular in pairs is not a bad idea...unless you happen to purchase a defective one. Sorry don't have better news.

Triumph sprint rs 955i,all correct lights come on during start up proceedure but there is only the click of the relay switch when you press start button and no ignition, started as an intermittant fault...

try charging up the battery, the starter needs around 60 amps to turn over compared to the lights that only need around 5 amps, maybe it just doesnt have enough power to turn it over... hope this helps

After starting the bike up and moving away the digital speedo stays on 0 and i have to keep stopping switching it of and restarting until it works

This is a known issue with Triumph Triples from 2002/2003 - there was a 'feature' in the ECM code called speedo error check which looks at the battery voltage and disables the speedo if below boundaries.
However this feature was extremely problematic from the very outset - even brand new batteries would suffer this issue.
It is exactly as you described - typically at first start it will disable - speedo reads zero; a subsequent re-start will restore. No in between - either works or doesn't work (a reading that is inconsistent to actual speed is more likely to be a speed sender issue).
Triumph received so many complaints that they disbaled the feature in subsequent revisions.
The solution is to have your dealer upload the latest edition of 'tune' for your model into your ECM.
Unfortunately this is not something you can do yourself.
Depending on your relationship with dealer, some will do this free - or charge a nominal fee around $50.

This will 100% fix your problem.
