There was a harness installed under the seat to keep the running lights on all the time because it has red signals.. Took the harness out and work fine.. I took all that of anyhow and installed an L.E.D. tail light with turn signals built in.. Love it.

SOURCE: brake light stays on

hand break switch was broken (inside the wire housing) not allowing the hand break lever to deactive, therefore causing the brake system to stay on.

SOURCE: replace rer drive belt on 2005 road king

Its a 3 hr job for a trained mechanic. You really need a manual for the job. You have to remove the inner primary, pull your swing arm axle out abit..Its truly a task to replace a belt on a road King.

SOURCE: Harley Road King motor turned off

after checking the kill switch on the handle bars and the key. It could be a simple wire or even a computter problem check to see if you have spark if it even turns over, without knowing if it fuel injected or carb its hard to give an exact find or fix. If your not formiluar with the road kings working I would suggest you take it to a harley mech.

SOURCE: removing stock rear turn signals on 2006 Harley Davidon 1200

I have not removed the turn signals from a model this late. There may be a nut between the fender and the fender strut. You may have to remove the fender to get the turn signals off.

My 2004 custom road king died crusing down the road at that time i had no lights no starter action nothing at all . i replaced the battery still got no starter action just lights no turn signals .

Check that you have put all the active wires back on to the battery. (Mine had 2 separate wires) Check the "kill" or stop switch on the handlebar hasn't been accidently turned on.

Left turn signal comes on when I turn the ignition then doesn't work

I am having the same issue on a 2005 FLHRCI Road King Classic. Basically the left turn signal comes on when I start the engine. It will not cancel by pushing the left turn signal button. However, if I push the right turn signal button the left will go off and the right will start blinking. Sometimes, this same action starts all four signals blinking (like the emergency flashers). It is very erratic. I have Kuryakan pancea rear taillights and brake light. The brake light went out so I went a bought a new brake/taillight with a new adapter. Brake lights work now but the blinker problems happens whether the back lights are connected or not. Front turn signals are stock.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right turn signal blows fuse. replaced speedodemeter to correct problem and it is still blowing fuse. what else could it be. all wiring is good.

I don't have a wiring diagram for your '05 FLHRS but since the early '90's, Harley has used a turn signal cancelling unit to control the turn signals. Once you press a turn signal button, the turn signal controller activates the signal for specific lenght of time then it cancells the signal. There is a wire that comes out of the plug on this cancelling unit that goes to front turn signal and rear turn signal on each side of the bike. If you are blowing a fuse when the right turn signal is activated, I would suspect a short somewhere along the wire that comes from the turn signal cancelling unit going to either the front or rear signal light. The cancelling unit is a "black box" that is about 1 1/2 inch wide, about 3 inches long, and about a 3/4 inch thick. It may be located between the tanks on a split tank model or under the seat on other models.
