Dirt bike wont start

Coolant is coming out of spark plug hole and dirtbike will turn over but not start

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

if coolant is coming out of the spark plug hole you have likely blown a head gasket or the block or cyclinder is cracked. are you sure that is coolant ?

Head gasket is bad. check for damage due to ever heating, or loose bolts if some one worked there before.

Hey i need help geting a dirt bike im alonging 14 years old what can i do to get dirt bike plz help me rideing is my live email.com me at [email protected]

The first thing you need to do is to convince your caregivers, whether it's parents, grandparents, etc.that you are responsible.
This means that you should do your chores, homework,be nice to your brothers or sisters if you have any...just make sure that you do this for awhile, not for one day.
After about a month or so,sit down with mom,dad,whoever...and tell them that you really want one.
If they think you deserve to be given the chance then you could start by going to yardsales, auctions, and posting on-line for a used one.
Always start with a used one.
Trust me on this...not only am I someone's child,but I'm also someone's parent...I know how adults think.lol
If it's because of money that you can't get one then post on craigslist. You could trade someone on there for something that you have or something that you can do. Maybe some little old lady has a dirtbike in her garage and she needs a hole dug in her backyard...you could dig the hole for her and she would give you the bike.
If this is truly your passion then it will come to be. My little brother was 15 when he got his first dirtbike. He's almost 40 now,and still lives to ride and rides to live.
Good luck on your quest.

recharge or. replace your battery; the battery needs a huge amount of amperage to turn over the engine but less to fire the ignition

Basicaly brand new cr25o mx bike wont start

Assuming you are using fresh gas. Check to see if gas is coming out of the line, if not blow back up into the tank and if that works there's dirt in the tank. Check the spark by removing the plug and kicking it over with the plug touching the engine, look for spark. If no spark, try a new plug, if still no spark, you have a stator problem. It wouldn't hurt to clean the air filter in any case. Good luck!

My dirtbike sat in the garage for 4 years now it wont run right .

have you checked the reeds inside the induction side if they are corroded from sitting it will cause that problem, also check the spark plug, may just be a case of weak spark ,if still no good check the coila good way to test if it is a spark problem get a can of aerostart (wyns start ya bastard) and spary a little in carby, should start real easy. if so then spark is your problem. also just thinking check tat your exhaust has not collapsed inside itself or is blocked, that can cause no power too. hope i have been of some help.

Dirt bike with no spark

I dont know how much you know about dirtbikes but you need to check the points. They are located under the fly wheel and they allow the engine to send a spark to the coil pack which then sends it to the spark plug. The fly wheel is under the side case, which is only held by a few screws.Once you get that off,the points,Which are under the fly wheel, just need to be cleaned off with a little sand paper. if that dosent help the spark then check the coil pack. The coil pack is the black box where the spark plug cable wire comes out of. look and see if its melted or broken in any way. If the coil is not ruined then you might need a new spark plug cable.

Should i do a total teardown of a bike thats sat for 15 years

If it's sat for 15 years, whether it's a dirt bike or a car, you should definately see if it runs first....

If it DOES run...then I would do some maintenance.

If it DOESN'T run, then it's wise to just check a few things first.

Water in the gas tank? Spark plug giving spark? Does it try to turn over? Is there oil?

If if seems effed, then just tear it down...it's cheaper to rebuild it in the long run, then to fix piece by piece, and end up fixing things that didn't need to be fixed.

I've never owned, ridden, or worked on a dirtbike. It's just all common sense.
