I have a 2004 Grizzly 660 ATV. When I push the reverse override button while in reverse, the engine still cuts out. I thought the reverse override button was supposed to prevent this.
The override button on your Yamaha isn't supposed to override reverse. It will only disengage the rev limiter while moving forward when you have the "Diff Lock" engaged. When this happens, you will see your speedometer change to zeros. If you want to override your reverse, you will need to rewire a few things. I found the info I needed at "grizzhopper.com" to rewire mine.
Check all the connection on the override circuit. If you ride in muddy and sandy and wet conditions connections can become loose and therefore cause the feature to lack, or not work at all.
