You would have to do some basic checks before i could answer that one im fraid. when did it stop have you have any work done prior to that and if no apparent reason then you would have to check the two main things, fuel (take a spark plug out of your engine, is the end wet/dry, if dry wot colour is it(brown=rich mix, whiteish=running fine, black=running very lean) then while plug out connect back to the wire it came from without screwing it in and hold to the body of the engne with a very insulated pair of pliers while a trusted friend tries to start it, you should see a spark everytime the engine turns over) third conclusive test would be to smell exhaust fumes for trace of petrol) if you can smell petrol in fumes then electrical, same if plugs are wettish with fuel, if plugs dry and spark there then you want to be looking at fuel probs, if no spark and dry plugs then you would be looking at immobiliser probs. sorry i couldnt be more specific.

I have a 1999 Honda CRV that stalled on the road and will not start. The starter and engine turns over and I have gas. How do I check the spark or fuel? Do I need to buy an analyzer?

It would probably be less expensive to get into a shop & have it repaired. An analyzer will give u the computer readings & more. If your problem isn't electronic u wont need a scanner. If it can help u solve the problem there is the expense of YOU DIAGNOSING IT, PARTS. You must know how to use the tools, it wont tell u whats wrong. Save the headache.

The battery in my 1998 Honda CRV works fine. Had a problem with the key sticking, now the key turns in the ignition but won't catch to start the car. Not sure what to do

Sounds like the ignition switch is worn out(or the linkage from the lock cylinder to the switch has come loose or something like that)

98 honda crv wil start if jump started and then later won't start

Your battery is not fully charged and may not be accepting a full charge. Remove your battery and put it on a charger overnight. Take the battery to a parts store and have them hook it up. They will then be able to tell if it is taking a full charge or not. If this is a new battery it will take a full charge but it is still getting drained by something such as a radio not shutting off automatically, if you have that option.

When I start my 1999 honda CRV it surges to about

no the surge that high is not normal a normal cold start should go to around 1500 then settle slowly to 750 or so but this all depends on engine temp and ambient air temperature

1999 Honda CRV A/C

The compressor is supposed to cycle on and off. The idle problem may not be the compressor but the solenoid that controls the idle when the compressor is engaged. A bad clutch would present in different ways, i.e. metallic scraping noise. I doubt at this point you are damaging the system by running the a/c.
