Yes, the water seal is leaking. This is the indicator hole for the water and oil seal.
Enjoy the ride !

Yz 250 water pump leak

Hi mate this will be the oil & water seals the leak from weep hole is basically a warning light to tell you it needs replacing asap, you need to remove impellor, carefull not to lose the spacer washer behind it...then remove the water seal clean the surface it came from and replace with new seal. Now to do this 100% I would always replace the impeller shaft as the shaft wearing is usually what caused the seal to fail and I would also replace the oil seal which is the other side of case that you just changed the water seal (oil seal sits behind the small bearing) I would also consider replacing this bearing but maybe not critical? all up the impellor shaft the 2 seals and bearing last time I bought cost about $160... no special tools required just quite a bit of time required as you should really remove the outer engine case to access the impellor to undo it and to get to the oil seal and bearing, how ever I know guys do just open the water pump cover then rattle gun off the impellor only replace the water seal then install the impellor and cover back on then ride away! this will work and will fix the leak but is definitely the incorrect way to repair this and will be temporary fix but thought you may like to know this alternative as is very handy way to do it if your on a race meeting and just need to get through the last race or two.

hope this help cheers... Moto X Parts online.com

I have a Yamaha yz 125 2003 and there is water leaking out the bottom through a small whole and was wondering why it is doing that as it has just started doing it recently

This is telling you your oil and water seal need replacing ASAP do not ride until fixed as you will seize bottom end guaranteed !
there is small seal each side of your water pump impeller when you take the impeller out replace both even if only one needs doing as you will be going back to replace the one left soon after as they always go together..
Most people would not do this repair without replacing the impeller as well - usually the impeller starts to wear groves where it spins inside the seals then damages the seals So you get the theory behind replacing the whole lot as old impeller can damage your new seals
The seep hole is designed to give you warning of burst seal before its way to late as without the seep hole leak you would have no idea you are leaking coolant into the motor
You can do your self its a bit of work but not complicated - if you do your self don't forget to change your engine oil couple of times after first few rides reduce any risk of having coolant inside it where it should not be
good luck regards Jamie

2004 YZ 250 is leaking fluid out of the hole just behind water pump underneath the crankcase. The gasket looks fine and its not leaking from the gasket its actually coming out of the hole. I started...

The hole is a weep hole, designed to drain coolant from water pump seal leakage or oil from bearing seal leakage from contaminating either system. So one of the seals is leaking, and you should rebuild the pump.
Looking at the parts diagram it appears the impeller is threaded onto the shaft on the YZ250....hope that helps, heres the parts diagram

Coolant is slowly leaking out of the small hole on the bottom of my water pump casing. What do I need to do to fix this?

That is like a vent hole, but the seals for your water pump should be replaced. Also, check the shaft for wear from the seal, as they can "cut" into the shaft. Then the shaft is bad also.

2003 yz 250 leaking water from hole at water pump. does it mean bearings bad? and if so how do you change it. all i find is the cover or the propellar. i cant find the bearing

leaking water means the seal is gone, the bearing is in the clutch case, often needs a new shaft as well if it has wear marks, replace the bearing, it will help the new seal last longer

Leaking both oil and a mixture of oil and water

well when you have water and oil both leaking it most of the time means a head gasket or in your case a jug gasket

its the water pump tell tale hole. if it is leaking it needs new water pump seal its pretty cheap and easy to fix also check the shaft isnt worn when you have it apart.
