SOURCE: 2002 XR 200 sat for about 6 yrs with no attention.

Remove the plug lead and plug. Earth the body of the plug to the barrel. Kick and check for spark.
If no spark you have found a problem.
If you get spark the problem is most likely the carby.
Remove the float bowl from bottom of carby and check that both jets are clear.
