How much oil do i put in my 1991 XT Yamaha motorcycle?

Engine oil incl. filter: 2.0 LITER

1 quart of JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. 10W-40 is a good year round weight. Synthetic oil will run cooler and shift better. Do not use any oil that says Energy Conserving on the bottle, it will shorten wet clutch an transmission gear life.

I'd check the oil pressure switch (cheap fix) if it has oil pressure. Have you topped up the oil too much from worry about the low oil pressure?

hi had the same prob i turned the ignition on and kept the mode button pushed in and i think that done it hope this helps

The proportion is 100% oil, don't mix it with anything. Put in two quarts, stand the bike straight up and check the oil. Add one half quart at a time until it registers full on the stick or in the sight glass.
